Porchlight Music Theatre has announced the next mainstage production in its 2017 - 2018 season - Merrily We Roll Along - running January 26 - March 11, 2018, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by George Furth, with direction by Porchlight Music Theatre Artistic Director Michael Weber, associate direction and musical staging by Porchlight Music Theatre Artistic Associate Christopher Pazdernik and music direction by Aaron Benham, at Porchlght's home, the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Barrington Stage Company and Artistic Director Julianne Boyd, has announced the 2018 season, which will feature three world premieres, including a major new musical from Tony Awards winners William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin, a new play from Off Broadway Alliance Award winner Lloyd Suh, and the first major production of a work from an exciting young playwright, Rachel Lynett.

Sierra Stages Announces Open Auditions for JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH

Sierra Stages is pleased to announce open auditions for its summer 2018 production of the musical JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH , playing from July 12 August 4 at the historic Nevada Theatre in Nevada City. Robert Rossman directs, with music direction by Ken Getz.

Lakeland's 2017-18 season concludes with the passionate and oft-misunderstood musical by Stephen Sondheim and George Furth Merrily We Roll Along which opens on February 2, 2018 and runs for three weeks at Lakeland Community College's Rodehorst Performing Arts Center. These offerings include unique productions of classic comedies, a Seattle premiere, Disability Theatre Project play-reading series of plays by disabled playwrights, art exhibitions, accessible performances and other experimental works as part of our Making Waves program.

Sierra Stages Announces 10th Anniversary Season

2018 marks the 10th Anniversary Season of Sierra Stages, a nonprofit community theatre in western Nevada County (Grass Valley and Nevada City). The 10th Anniversary Season is a celebration of heart, music, laughter and family, and includes two musicals and one classic American comedy: The zany and heartbreaking musical A New Brain by William Finn and James Lapine, the enchanting new musical version of Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach by Timothy Allen McDonald and the songwriting team of Ben Pasek and Justin Paul, and the classic and enduring American stage comedy You Can't Take It With You by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman.

Lesli Margherita Returns To Bucks County Playhouse With One-Woman Show

Olivier Award winner and Broadway star Lesli Margherita (Matilda, Dames at Sea, Zorro), Adelaide from Bucks County Playhouse's blockbuster production of Guys and Dolls, returns to New Hope with a brand-new concert, This Broad's Way, Saturday, January 20 at 8:00 p.m. Margherita is appearing at the Playhouse as part of the Winter Visiting Artists Series.

It was a reunion for two of the lead actors from Broadway's On the Town when Tony-nominee Tony Yazbeck visited New Hope, PA to see Clyde Alves at Bucks County Playhouse. Alves plays the role of Tago in the world premiere of The New World , the musical comedy that is getting raves from critics. John Timpane of the Philadelphia Inquirer said With sneaky brilliance, beginning to end, The New World is fresh, funny, and fluid. Jean Brenner of Bucks County Herald said, Mark my words, The New World is headed to Broadway: it's special, it's funny, it's delightfully entertaining.'
