Cincinnati Shakespeare Company (CSC) announced the titles for its 25th Anniversary at The Otto M. Budig Theater in an event on February 21. Theatre ETC! will be bringing their touring production of the dystopian classic 1984 to a middle school or high school near you soon! This live adaptation of George Orwell's classic novel deals with omnipresent government surveillance, loss of rights, and authoritarian regimes in a thought provoking and often frightening way. 1984's story is as alarming now as it was upon first release and serves as a staunch reminder of what could happen if government control is allowed to run rampant and unopposed.

The Marshall University Theatre company, known as Theatre ETC! (Education Touring Company) has been given an anonymous grant in the amount of $20,000. This incredibly generous grant will help ensure that Theatre ETC! will be able to continue to bring its unique brand of educational and thought-provoking show adaptations to schools around the state while also continuing to supply educators with informative study materials.

Boston Children's Theatre is no stranger to bringing favorite children's books to life on stage. Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev go head-to-head in Blind Date, a new play by Rogelio Martinez directed by Goodman Theatre Artistic Director Robert Falls. Today, Falls announced his cast for the world-premiere production, which features as characters some of the figures who shaped the political landscapes of the 1980s and beyond.

The Actors' Gang presents The New Colossus, a new play written by The Actors' Gang ensemble and directed by Actors' Gang Artistic Director Tim Robbins. The New Colossus begins previews on Thursday, February 8, has its world premiere on Saturday, February 17 and runs through Saturday, March 24, 2018.

Larry Cedar's one-man stage adaptation, NOTES FROM THE UNDERGROUND (based on the Fyodor Dostoevsky novel) was awarded BEST ONE-PERSON SHOW (Drama) and BEST DIRECTOR ONE-PERSON SHOW (Pamela Cedar) at last evening's 2017 NoHo Fringe Festival Award Ceremony, beating out strong contender Joe Mantegna and his production, I'm Not a Comedian, I'm Lenny Bruce in both categories. NOTES will now return by popular demand for two encore performances on December 22nd and 23rd.
