What if one thought cost you everything? Following a wildly successful Broadway run, the nerve-jangling stage adaptation of 1984, George Orwell's dystopian masterpiece, opens at Garden Theatre on March 1, 2019. Directed by Bobbie Bell, the Central Florida premiere of Winston's fight to remember the past and protect the future will run from March 1 - 17, 2019 on the Garden stage.

1984 presents a harrowing future in which a totalitarian government uses propaganda, brainwashing, constant surveillance, and torture to control its subjects. One of the most widely referenced and best-known fiction titles of all time, 1984 makes the dark implications of out-of-control state power feel urgent and real.

Winston remembers life before. Before the Washington Bomb, before the War, and before Big Brother began watching. He has a simple yet deadly idea: to write a journal. In a world where every movement is monitored by the authoritarian government and the secret Thoughtpolice, writing is forbidden. Winston's act of recording the abuses of the government is met with fatal consequences.

The cast features Brian Zealand as Winston Smith, Kristie Geng as Julia, Stephen Lima as O'Brien, Tommy Keesling as Parsons, Adonis Perez as Martin, Andrew Romano as Syme, Ryan Lynch as Charrington, Kristina Johnson as Mrs. Parsons, and Emily Stone as Child.

1984 will feel intimately real through the talents of Scenic Designer Steven Mitchell, Lighting Designer Ryan Finzelber, Costume Designer AJ Garcia, Sound Designer Jack Audet, and Props Designer Kyle Ransbottom.
