The full evening ballet, choreographed for young and adult audiences, is a co-commission between Atlanta Ballet and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.

According to published reports, the National Theatre has postponed Tori Amos' musical, which is based on The Light Princess, by George MacDonald. Originally scheduled to open at the Lyttelton Theatre in 2012, the show was set to be directed by Marianne Elliott.

On Monday September 19, 2011, the IT Awards (New York Innovative Theatre Awards), the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, and host comedian Harrison Greenbaum, announced the 2011 recipients at the Seventh Annual IT Awards Ceremony at Cooper Union. This year's nominees represent 169 individual artists, 55 productions and 45 theatre companies. In 2011, the IT Awards had the most individual nominees than in any previous season with 169 nominees.

This newly devised work was created by an ensemble process designed to uncover autobiographical material with transformative potential. James Baldwin once wrote that 'Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.' In 'Facing the Minotaur', an ensemble of six directed by Julie Rosier, interweaves three real life journeys of courageous self-confrontation by ensemble members DR Mann Hanson, Quai Nystrom and Kimberly Shelby-Szyszko.
