The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, concludes its 45th Anniversary Season with the New York premiere of the new musical, Cagney, with book by Peter Colley and music & lyrics by Robert Creighton and Christopher McGovern.

BWW Reviews: Actor/Singer Kevin Earley Brings Uber Enjoyable ON THE RECORD to Sterling's

On Monday March 30 actor/singer Kevin Earley brought his show On the Record to a packed house of adoring fans at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal in NoHo, and it proved nothing short of a triumph. Earley's tenor is no stranger to these parts, as the Chicago born spent a lot of time from 2001 onward playing supporting and lead singing roles on legitimate stages in and around Los Angeles, such as his award-winning Rutledge in 1776, Terry Conner in Side Show, as well as leads in Can-Can and No Strings. He has also appeared on Broadway in Les Miserables, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Death Takes a Holiday and A Tale of Two Cities.

Fred Sullivan, Jr. & Joel Kipper Set for OSTC's ROUNDING THIRD

Trinity Repertory Company's Fred Sullivan, Jr., who is enjoying rave reviews in Trinity Rep's current production of A Flea in Her Ear, and Ocean State Theatre Company's Managing Producer, Joel Kipper, who recently made his directing debut with OSTC's The Last Five Years, will be starring opposite one another in OSTC's upcoming summer production of Richard Dresser's comedy Rounding Third.

GEORGE M. COHAN TONIGHT! Begins Tonight at Stage Door Theatre

Jon Peterson returns to the Stage Door Theatre today, March 20th in George M. Cohan Tonight! an entertaining and energetic one-man musical based on the life and career of one of America's most beloved song and dance men. The play captures the essence of the man, his music, and an era of show business and of Broadway that has rarely been matched. The production will run through April 26th.

It was all in the family and all for the family at The Friars Club last night. La Famiglia, Mishpucha, La Familia, CeMbR, Rat Pack, Broadway and Cabaret, were assembled by producers Laura Slutsky and Jamie at the Friars for a spectacular Jamie deRoy & friends show last night. You had to be in the family or know someone in the family to get into the sold out event. Probably no family gathering had so much fun, good food, and great performances as this one did.

There will be a very special show at the Friars tonight, March 11th. Jamie deRoy will be hosting a an evening of entertainment called 'Family Ties'. Usually Jamie's shows are all about the talented and interesting friends she knows, but for this one, the main requirement will be that these wonderfully entertaining friends have to be related to each other or to a Friar.

Bill Castellino is set to direct with choreography by Joshua Bergasse. Broadway veteran Robert Creighton stars as James Cagney who will lead a cast of six in this exciting new musical. Broadway Tony Award nominee and former Olympic Gold medal gymnast Cathy Rigby stars as 'Cat in the Hat' in Seussical the Musical which officially opens the LA Ovation Award winning 3D Theatricals' (3DT) 2015 musical theatre season. This delightful, whimsical show has been set for ten performances at Fullerton's historic Plummer Auditorium tonight, February 7 - 22; and six performances February 28 - March 8 at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center.

The ASCAP Foundation Awards Ceremony was held at The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center and Broadwayworld was there. This years recipient of the Masters Award was composer John Corigliano. Mr. Corigliano has also won fiver Grammy's a Pulitzer Prize the Grawemeyer Award and an Academy Award for his many scores and compositions. Rupert Holmes, Composer, Playwright, lyricist, mystery novelist, arranger-conductor, screenwriter, record producer and singer-songwriter received the Foundations George M. Cohan Award which is made possible by the Friars Foundation.

Rayna Hirt, Michael Czyz Receive 'George M. Cohan Award'

The 13th Street Rep's 'George M. Cohan Song-and-Dance Award'-honoring a triple-threat singer/dancer/actor--has this year been presented to two people: Rayna Hirt and Michael Czyz. Cohan himself-the quintessential song-and-dance man-may have long since gone to his reward. But his great-granddaughter, singer/actress Jennifer Cohan Ross, was on hand to present the awards. The 13th Street Rep's 97-year-old founder/artistic director, Edith O'Hara-a longtime believer in the importance of encouraging fresh talent--was there, too, to congratulate the winners. Playwright Chip Deffaa, whose work has often been presented by the theater, emceed the event.

13th Street Rep to Hold EDDIE CANTOR DAY, 11/24

Monday, November 24th will be "Eddie Cantor Day" at "One Night with Fanny Brice," the long-running musical play at the 13th Street Repertory Theater (50 W. 13th Street, NYC).
