?Since Joe's Pub at The Public opened its doors in 1998, the venue's programming has proudly represented the fabric of not only New York City but the world. With its slate of residencies, world class production and intimate setting, Joe's Pub cultivates an atmosphere and platform where musicians and artists can perform to their greatest power, try new things and reach more people. This spring, Joe's Pub presents some family favorites in multiple date runs like the Losers Lounge doing The Pretenders versus Blondie, comedian Justin Sayre's hit show The Meeting* to newer faces to Joe's like vocalist/performer Migguel Anggelo and performance artist/choreographer Ann Liv Young.

OpenICE Initiative Launches in NYC Today

The International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) has received a $450,000 award from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support OpenICE, a new three-year initiative to develop, engage, and sustain diverse, new 21st-century listeners through an outpouring of artist-driven programming that is free and open to the public.

Rialto Chatter: Kaufman & Hart's ONCE IN A LIFETIME Coming Back to Broadway?

Once in a Lifetime, the first of eight collaborations from Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, might be heading back to the stage, according to the New York Post. MIchael Riedel writes that he 'hears rumblings of a possible revival.' The duo is currently represented on Broadway with their 1936 play, You Can't Take It With You.

Composer John Supko's s_traits, created in collaboration with media artist Bill Seaman, comes out Tuesday, November 4 on the Manchester-based Cotton Goods label. It is the second album devoted to Supko's music, following drawn only once on New Amsterdam in 2011. A live performance event is planned in conjunction with the release; watch this space for details.

The San Francisco Girls Chorus Present RITES AND PASSAGES Featuring Joe Goode Performance Group, Kanoko Nishi, and Sarah Cahill, Today

The five-time Grammy-winning San Francisco Girls Chorus will close its2013-2014 35th season with a special concert of music by Eastern European composers and guest artists Joe Goode Performance Group and pianists Kanoko Nishi and Sarah Cahill Today, June 14, at 8 pm at Nourse Theatre in San Francisco. The program, entitled Rites and Passages and conducted by Girls Chorus Music Director Valerie Sainte-Agathe, will feature Bartok's Three Village Scenes performed as a suite with original dance interpolations created by Joe Goode and performed by members of his acclaimed Joe Goode Performance Group. The Chorus will be joined by guest pianists Kanoko Nishi and Sarah Cahill for Nishi's new two-piano arrangement of Scenes 1 and 3 from Stravinsky's Les Noces and will go a cappella for Stravinsky'sFour Russian Peasant Songs. Completing the program will be Smetana's Three Choruses for Female Voice.
