The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra (ABO) and Circa Contemporary Circus (Circa) reunite for a third thrilling concert, ENGLISH BAROQUE WITH CIRCA.

On Sunday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m., Harry Bicket conducts Handel's Semele at Carnegie Hall with acclaimed baroque orchestra The English Concert. In this concert presentation, soprano Brenda Rae performs the title role, joined by mezzo-soprano Elizabeth DeShong (Juno/Ino), bass Soloman Howard, (Cadmus/Somnus), tenor Benjamin Hulett (Jupiter), countertenor Christopher Lowrey (Athamas), soprano Ailish Tynan (Iris), tenor Brian Giebler (Apollo), and bass-baritone Joseph Beutel (Priest), along with The Clarion Choir (Steven Fox, Artistic Director).

Third Coast Baroque will conclude its 2018-19 season with the Chicago premiere of Handel's first oratorio - The Triumph of Time and Disenchantment, HWV 46a - on Friday, April 12, 2019, at 7:30 pm at First United Methodist Church at the Chicago Temple. Artistic director Ruben Dubrovsky also will lead 'Chicago's most accomplished period instrumentalists and singers' (Chicago Tribune) in the work's North Shore premiere Saturday, April 13, 2019, at 7:30 pm at Galvin Recital Hall in Evanston, Illinois.

Beginning June 5 and continuing through the 29th, San Francisco Opera presents a trio of extraordinary lyric works Georges Bizet's Carmen, George Frideric Handel's Orlando and Anton n Dvo k's Rusalka featuring powerful leading women in the title roles. Spanning three centuries and sung in French, Italian and Czech, the 2019 Summer Season repertory will occasion the Company debuts of four conductors, including two women, in productions that are new to the War Memorial Opera House stage. Some casting updates for the repertory were announced today and additional casting of supporting roles will be released at a future date.

Placido Domingo has announced the company's 2019/20 season. The season will include six mainstage operas, one musical, one recital and one concert presented at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, with additional performances presented in other venues through the company's Off Grand initiative.

San Francisco Opera General Director Matthew Shilvock today announced repertory and casting for the Company's 97th Season, opening Friday, September 6, 2019, with a gala performance of Charles Gounod's Romeo and Juliet (Rom o et Juliette) starring tenor Bryan Hymel and soprano Nadine Sierra in Op ra de Monte-Carlo Director Jean-Louis Grinda's production. In keeping with the Company's time-honored tradition, the new season will be inaugurated with San Francisco Opera Guild's elegant, signature benefit and celebration, Opera Ball 2019.

For the 14th consecutive year, the Auditorium Theatre proudly presents Too Hot to Handel: The Jazz-Gospel Messiah over Martin Luther King, Jr. Day weekend. Celebrating Dr. King's vision of "beloved community" - a world without poverty, bigotry, and violence - Too Hot is a true Chicago show that unites people from all across the city as they sing, dance, and clap along with the performers. 

San Francisco Opera presents the acclaimed San Francisco Opera Chorus in concert on Friday, November 30, 2018, in the intimate Dianne and Tad Taube Atrium Theater at the Diane B. Wilsey Center for Opera. Company Chorus Director Ian Robertson leads the singers in a diverse program of a cappella choral music and accompanied works with instrumental support from Associate Chorus Master and pianist Fabrizio Corona and members of theSan Francisco Opera Orchestra.

On November 3 and 4, The Handel and Haydn Society will celebrate the dynamic spirit of the local community with a celebration of song. Every Voice: A Celebration of Our Community will bring together members of the H+H Orchestra and Chorus, as well as students from H+H's Vocal Arts Program, for an uplifting musical festival for justice. The performances will be presented in partnership with the Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry and Inquilinos Boricuas en Accion.

Alternating between the fun/serious musical styles of Louie Prima, Mickey Katz, The Barry Sisters, George Frideric Handel, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Jule Styne and others, Jane Lynch & Kate Flannery brought a degree of exciting eclectic music and humor to Cafe Carlyle not often seen in the legendary space. One of the nation's leading organizations for the advancement of early music, the San Francisco Early Music Society (SFEMS) has announced its 2018-19 season featuring some of the most exciting early music practitioners here and abroad in nine wide-ranging programs. The season runs from October 12 through May 19, with concerts presented in Palo Alto, Berkeley and San Francisco. 

Single tickets for Michigan Opera Theatre's (MOT) 2018-19 season will go on sale next Monday, Aug. 20. The MOT opera series celebrates masterworks of literature turned opera, by authors like John Steinbeck and Voltaire. The MOT dance series will celebrate modern dance, following the movement through multiple generations. It also includes a program featuring ballet legend Alessandra Ferri as well as local favorite "The Nutcracker" with BalletMet.

Levin is celebrated as a bold interpreter of challenging works, from the Romantic canon to leading modernist composers. The New York Times praised her "fire and originality," while The New Yorker called her playing "revelatory."  Part of the treasured Masterworks Series, this program will feature Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 29 in B-flat Major, Op. 106, "Hammerklavier" and Handel's Suite for keyboard No. 3 in D minor, HWV 428.

Concerts at Saint Thomas closes their 2017-18 season with “Four Hands, Four Feet: Daniel Hyde and Benjamin Sheen in Recital” on June 16, 2018 at 2 pm.In their debut duo recital, showcasing the magnificent pipe organs of Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue, award-winning organists Daniel Hyde and Benjamin Sheen perform virtuosic transcriptions of works from the orchestral and operatic literature.

Doha Baroque Ensemble accomplished to examine each string of the heart of Baroque both as individually and as a whole. The playlist included some of the greatest works of magnificent minds of the era such as; Johann Hermann Schein: Suite No. 16 from Banchetto musicale, Nicola Matteis (ca. 1650-after 1714): Suite in A Major for two violins and continuo from Ayres for the violin, Johann Sebastian Bach: Suite No. 2 in B Minor for orchestra, BWV 1067 Giovanni Gabrieli, Canzon Primi Toni a 8.

Australia's only Baroque opera company, the acclaimed Pinchgut Opera, will present a striking new production of Handel's Athalia at City Recital Hall Sydney, with four performances from 21 until 26 June 2018.
