Abingdon Theatre Company celebrated the opening of its latest Off-Broadway hit PHANTOM KILLER, a true-crime thriller by Jan Buttram, at a party held Sunday, January 31 at Houndstooth Pub at 8th Avenue and 37th Street in Manhattan.

The winners of the 2009 Directors Guild of America Outstanding Directorial Achievement Awards and the recipients of the Guild's 2010 Career Achievement Awards were announced last night during the 62nd Annual DGA Awards Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles. Kathryn Bigelow won the DGA's Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for The Hurt Locker. Following the welcome by DGA President Taylor Hackford to an audience of more than 1,600 guests, director/actor Carl Reiner hosted the ceremony.

This week, January 25, stars celebrated the winners of the 2010 Nightlife Awards at The Town Hall. The Gingold Theatrical Group -- the first company to present every play written by George Bernard Shaw -- began their fifth year with Shaw's farcical romantic comedy from 1894, ARMS AND THE MAN.
