Avi Scher & Dancers Present Two World & Four NYC Premieres

AVI SCHER & DANCERS presents its debut New York Season with a program including two World Premiere productions and four New York Premieres from April 3-5, 2010 at The Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 W. 55th Street, NYC (at Ninth Avenue). Performances: Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 3pm, Monday at 8pm.

EBE Ensemble Presents ELEPHANTS ON PARADE 2010

EBE Ensemble (Eric Alba, Artistic Director; Montgomery Sutton, Executive Director) will present the third-annual installment of their award winning festival of new one-act plays, Elephants on Parade 2010. The winners of the 2009 Directors Guild of America Outstanding Directorial Achievement Awards and the recipients of the Guild's 2010 Career Achievement Awards were announced last night during the 62nd Annual DGA Awards Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles. Kathryn Bigelow won the DGA's Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for The Hurt Locker. Following the welcome by DGA President Taylor Hackford to an audience of more than 1,600 guests, director/actor Carl Reiner hosted the ceremony.

This week, January 25, stars celebrated the winners of the 2010 Nightlife Awards at The Town Hall. Among the winners and performers were Christine Ebersole, Cheyenne Jackson, Johnny Rodgers, Gretchen Reinhagen, Anne Steele, Eric Comstock and Barbara Fasano. Additional winners included Kurt Elling, Hank Jones, Sheila Jordan, Bad Plus, Baby Jane Dexter, Louis CK, John Mulaney, and Slovin and Allen.
