The Fall 2011 Musicals in Mufti Concert Series-the York's acclaimed series of musical theatre gems in staged concert performances- presented THE HOUSEWIVES' CANTATA on October 21. Two performances remain, on October 22 and 23.

Tony Award-winning composer/lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda and the cast of 'Bring It On: The Musical,' plus cheer squads from Narbonne High School (Harbor City), Mira Mesa High School (San Diego), Hart High School (Santa Clarita) and Santa Monica High School (Santa Monica); dance squads from St. Genevieve High School (Panorama City) and Los Alamitos High School (Los Alamitos); Glendale Community College's cheer squad, UCA cheer and dance instructors and a pep band.

San Francisco's cutting-edge Cutting Ball Theater opens its 12th season with French symbolist Maurice Maeterlinck's PELLEAS & MELISANDE, in a new translation by Cutting Ball Artistic Director Rob Melrose. Directed by Melrose, with a musical score by composer Cliff Caruthers, video installation by Wesley Cabral, and choreography by Laura Arrington, PELLEAS & MELISANDE features Joshua Schell, Catilyn Louchard, Derek Fischer, Paul Gerrior, and Gwyneth Richards, along with Bennett Fisher, Jessica Rudholm, Carla Pauli, and Brittany Kilcoyne McGregor. PELLEAS & MELISANDE plays October 21-November 27 (Press opening: October 27) at the Cutting Ball Theater in residence at EXIT on Taylor (277 Taylor Street) in San Francisco. Two-Time Tony Nominee Alison Fraser and Jill Shackner join previously announced actress Alysia Reiner in A CHARITY CASE. This new play about adoption by Australian playwright and director Wendy Beckett, will open Wednesday, November 2nd at Off Broadway's Clurman Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th and 10th Avenues). The play, which is also directed by Ms. Beckett, begins previews Friday, October 28th. The play is produced by Peter Walters for Pascal Productions. A CHARITY CASE is third in a series of Ms. Beckett's plays that Pascal Productions will produce in New York.

The State Theatre of Chicago opens their 2011-2012 season with The World Over, directed by Tim Speicher. Opening night is Wednesday, October 19 at 8:00 p.m. at ARCC Ballet, 2200 N. Elston. Tickets and information are available at www.statetheatrechicago.com.

WARREN'S PROFESSION, CAESAR AND CLEOPATRA, ARMS AND THE MAN, MAJOR BARBARA, THE APPLE CART and more.

Tony winner Tammy Grimes (Unsinkable Molly Brown), Tony nominee Lorraine Serabian (Zorba!), Tituss Burgess (Guys & Dolls/The Little Mermaid), Sarah Uriate Berry (Taboo), Andrea Fierson (Once on This Island), Anne Runolfsson (Cyrano-The Musical) Marianne Tatum (Barnum), and Marva Hicks, Vanessa A. Hirson.
