French Version of NEXT TO NORMAL to Play at RIDEAU VERT

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre has brought many theatrical premieres to the area including being one of the first theaters in the country to obtain the rights to produce a regional theater production of the musical comedy The Wedding Singer. Other shows, such as Neil Simon's The Goodbye Girl - The Musical, La Cage aux Folles, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Mel Brooks'The Producers, and All Shook Up made their western Maryland regional theater debuts at Way Off Broadway.

Alison Fraser, Sam Underwood, et al. Set for Culture Project's IN MASKS OUTRAGEOUS AND AUTERE

Producers Victor Syrmis, Carl Rumbaugh and Susan Batson, along with Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Artistic Director) today announced the complete cast and creative team for the World Premiere of In Masks Outrageous and Austere, the final full length play by Tennessee Williams, directed by David Schweizer. Performances will now begin on Friday, April 6, 2012 with an Opening Night set for Monday, April 16, 2012 at Culture Project at 45 Bleecker (at Lafayette Street). The production is scheduled to play through May 26, 2012.

New Hampshire Theatre Project Presents DREAMING AGAIN, 4/13-4/15

The New Hampshire Theatre Project presents Dreaming Again, written and directed by Genevieve Aichele with music by Agnes Charlesworth, April 13-15. Dreaming Again is an original dramatic play based on stories of Granite State immigrants and refugees who have resettled in New Hampshire over the past 100 years. Drawn from interviews with 30 different contemporary immigrants, as well as literary and historic sources, Dreaming Again celebrates both the joys and difficulties of arriving as a stranger and learning how to be a citizen in your new home. As a recent immigrant says so eloquently: Like a child, I am teaching myself how to dream again.

The television show's casting director Robert Ulrich of Modesto, and his wife, actress Kim Johnston-Ulrich of Ripon, are to be honored in April at a "Hometown Heroes" event, a continuing series at the Gallo Center that salutes area residents who have achieved national success in their fields.

New Hampshire Theatre Project's Junior Repertory Company Announces THE DETENTION CLUB

This spring the NHTP Junior Repertory Company presents an ensemble work in their production of The Detention Club. When faced with the challenge of finding a stage piece for this tight ensemble of students ranging in ages from 10-14, director Meghann Beauchamp was in a bind. 'It's difficult to find plays for this age group, specifically for our students who have classical acting training at a younger age than most and have a serious commitment to the craft of acting. Most plays for youth simply aren't challenging enough.'
