Last night the American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER) and Broadway Impact launched the all-star Broadway premiere of '8'. The play, which chronicles the historic trial in the federal legal challenge to California's Proposition 8, was written by AFER Founding Board Member and Academy Award-winning writer Dustin Lance Black and directed by Tony Award-winning actor and director Joe Mantello. According to Nielsen Media Research data, 'Meet the Press with David Gregory' was the top-rated Sunday morning public affairs program for the week ending March 6, 2011. The NBC program attracted 3.463 million total viewers, +26% (+709,000) more than second place CBS' 2.754 million viewers, a +43% advantage (+1,040,000) over third place ABC's 2.423 million viewers, and a +167% (+2,165,000) lead over FOX News Sunday's 1.298 million viewers.

Last night on Tuesday, April 13, Bishop Gene Robinson, the first openly gay priest to be ordained a bishop in a major Christian denomination, lead a talk back with cast and audience following a performance of NEXT FALL on Broadway. Robinson currently serves as the ninth bishop of the Diocese of New Hampshire in the Episcopal Church. The talkback was free to anyone attending last night's performance.
