The Silent Clowns Film Series announced today their fall 2015 season entitled 'Before Batman: Douglas Fairbanks' ZORRO (and son)', celebrating the iconic character brought to the screen by silent era swashbuckler Douglas Fairbanks in two blockbuster action pictures. The screenings of THE MARK OF ZORRO and DON Q, SON OF ZORRO will have live musical accompaniment and will take place at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the Library for the Performing Arts.

As a tribute to the 1952 screen version of SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, international touring production leading man Duane Alexander (in the childlike water-frolicking frenzy of Don Lockwood) has been captivating Manila audiences in Lunchbox Theatrical Productions' latest smash offering at Solaire's The Theatre. SINGIN' IN THE RAIN kicked off its limited run in the Philippines, which began gala night, August 20, until recently confirmed extension, September 13, which will have the 27-strong cast soaking wet (totaling 26 shows).

Gene Kelly has been big part of this past Broadway season. Not only did the legendary song and dance man play the original Jerry Mulligan in the 1951 film AN AMERICAN IN PARIS (a role now played onstage by Robert Fairchild), but he also brought Gabey to life on the big screen in 1949's ON THE TOWN (now played by Tony Yazbeck). Though the musical theatre icon passed away almost twenty years ago, his legacy continues to inspire performers everywhere.
This Sunday, August 23, would have marked Kelly's 103rd birthday, and to celebrate ON THE TOWN's Cory Lingner and Eloise Kropp put together their own performance of 'Main Street.' Check it out below!

Victoria Theatre Association continues the Cool Films Series' incredible line-up of films at the historic Victoria Theatre with the 1951 classic AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, starring Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron, this weekend, August 21-22 at 7 p.m. and August 23 at 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for only $6 each or passbooks of 10 tickets for $35 which can be used throughout the Series and are on sale now at Ticket Center Stage.
