Musical Theatre West's (MTW) Reiner Staged Reading Series (RRS) returns this season with an outstanding lineup of classic and forgotten Broadway gems, beginning with Pal Joey on Sunday, January 24, 7pm at the University Theatre at California State University, Long Beach (off 7th Street between East and West Campus Drive, Parking Lot 7).

The star of Golden Age musical films AN AMERICAN IN PARIS and GIGI recently made an appearance on CBS Sunday Morning to discuss her experience with making her screen debut in AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, plus her take on Leanne Cope's portrayal of the role on Broadway, and more. Leslie Caron, star of the Academy Award-winning film AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, was in attendance last night at the Tony Award-winning stage production for the first time.  She took a bow with the cast following the performance and BroadwayWorld was there for her big moment. Check out photos below!

SINGIN' IN THE RAIN splashes its way onto the Teatro at Montecasino stage next week. The show made a big splash the moment it premiered in the UK and has recently toured internationally with a stellar South African cast playing to sold out houses around the world.

Today in 1940, Pal oey opened at Broadway's Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Pal Joey is a musical with a book by John O'Hara (from his novel of the same title) and music and lyrics by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart based on a character and situations O'Hara created in a series of short stories published in The New Yorker. It includes two songs that have become standards: 'I Could Write a Book' and 'Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered'.

Jacques Weber, Councillor with the City of Cape Town, unveiled the stunning new permanent umbrella bench art installation at the V&A Waterfront, donated by Pieter Toerien Productions to coincide with the season of the hit musical SINGIN' IN THE RAIN.

Today in 2008, the third Broadway revival of Pal Joey opened at Studio 54, where it ran for 85 performances. Pal Joey is a musical with a book by John O'Hara (from his novel of the same title) and music and lyrics by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart based on a character and situations O'Hara created in a series of short stories published in The New Yorker. The original 1940 Broadway production was directed by George Abbott and starred Gene Kelly. There have been several revivals since, including a 2008-09 Broadway run, and a 1957 film adaptation starring Frank Sinatra, Rita Hayworth and Kim Novak.

HOUSTON (December 17, 2015) – The Houston Symphony will celebrate a new year and begin the second half of the 2015-2016 season with a variety of concerts, guests and programs for people of all ages in January and February.

HBO has renewed the critically acclaimed drama series THE LEFTOVERS for a third and final season, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. Created by Damon Lindelof (Emmy winner for “Lost”) and Tom Perrotta (Academy Award nominee for “Little Children”), the series is produced for HBO by White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros. Television.

(June 12, 2016); and Li'l Abner (August 28, 2016).  All performances take place at the University Theatre at California State University, Long Beach (off 7th Street between East and West Campus Drive, Parking Lot 7).

Tonight, November 28th, 2015 producer Connie Mason and Saladino Productions, Inc. will bring the music of some of the most lauded and recognized musicians of yesterday, today, and tomorrow to the Hollybrook Golf & Tennis Club for a 'One Night Only' Concert Event - We Own the Night - featuring Larry DiSalvi of The Duprees, The Five Satins and The Crests, along with singer/dancer Rome Saladino, and Broadway's Lissi Lennox. They will be accompanied by The Fabulous Funkadelic a 6-piece band that will 'rock the house!' says Saladino.

PRE-SHOW is a new cabaret aiming to target theatregoers before they arrive at their actual theatres for the night.
