Photo Flash: First Look at Loading Dock Theatre's THE TWELFTH LABOR World Premiere

Loading Dock Theatre presents The Twelfth Labor, a World Premiere play by Leegrid Stevens, directed by Matt Torney. The production runs now through October 11, 2014, playing Wednesdays-Saturdays at 7:30pm; Saturday Oct. 11th at 2pm at The Gene Frankel Theater, 24 Bond Street, New York, NY 10012. MISS JULIE to Run 10/21-11/8 at August Strindberg Rep

From October 21 to November 8, August Strindberg Repertory will transport Strindberg's 'Miss Julie' to an antebellum Louisiana plantation in a new interpretation conceived by Artistic Director Robert Greer and adapted by Edgar Chisholm from a translation by Greer. The production will include a ballet sequence, which Strindberg specified in the original manuscript and which has never been performed before. The piece will be directed by Robert Greer and choreographed by Ja' Malik.

Performances will be staged at The Gene Frankel Theatre, 24 Bond Street, New York, NY 10012 from today, September 19-October 11, 2014.

Arena Stage Announces Winners For OUR WAR Monologue Contest; Reading Set for 11/6

In June, Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announced a national call for three-minute monologues held in conjunction with the world premiere of Our War, a dynamic new theatrical event and collection of short stories by 25 esteemed playwrights that explores--through diverse perspectives--the historical memory and present-day reverberations of the U.S. Civil War. The open monologue contest inspired by Our War brought in more than 150 entries from around the world, and the theater is pleased to announce the three winning monologues: Tree by Dave Lankford of New York, NY; Mary/Marcus by Sarah Pitard of London, UK; and The Peacock's War by Lisa Sillaway of Wichita, KS.

French Play WINTER UNDER THE TABLE Comes to NYC in New English Translation This Weekend

'WINTER UNDER THE TABLE' by Roland Topor is returning to the New York stage after 12 years. With a new translation by Eniko Imre, Pilvax Productions is reintroducing this lesser known, delightful French comedy with an international cast. The show will be at The Gene Frankel Theatre in Manhattan from today, September 11th through the 14th.

Someone Who'll Watch Over Me focuses on the trials and tribulations of an Irishman, an Englishman and an American who are kidnapped and held hostage in a nondescript location in Lebanon. As the three men strive for survival, they also find themselves trying to overcome both their personal grudges towards one another, and their nationalistic differences, all under the watchful eyes and ears of their captors.

The Brewing Dept. will present a free, outdoor production of Chuck Mee's bobrauschenbergamerica directed by Emily Kaplan this August. The production runs today, August 14 - 30th, 2014 at 108th Street Lawn in Riverside Park (enter at 108th Street and Riverside Drive).
