Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET), Frederick's largest producing non-profit theater, launched a Capital Campaign in September of 2013 to raise funds for an additional performance venue and alterations to the existing facilities. On January 10, 2015 MET celebrated the completion of the Stage2: The Greene Space venue and numerous other capital improvements with a ribbon cutting ceremony, hours of free activities for families, and an evening of comedy and music. Maryland Ensemble Theatre Announces Fall Class Schedule

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) is proud to announce its fall schedule of classes for The Ensemble School. Taught by working actors and directors, The Ensemble School is a training ground for professional and aspiring actors of all skill levels with classes for students from age seven to adult. All classes are 12-week sessions that begin on or after September 9, meet once a week and are limited to 12 students. All classes are held at Maryland Ensemble Theatre located in the historic FSK Hotel at 31 W Patrick Street in downtown Frederick. 'We provide a safe and productive training ground for actors of all ages -- a place where they can take risks and learn the skills they'll need for a life on the stage', said Gene Fouche, the Director of The Ensemble School. On July 19, 2013, the Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) hosted ART PARTY MET, an evening of art, music, and theatre that celebrates the community of creativity and art in Frederick. Phoenix Rising unveiled a new mural for the MET lobby, a lobby that is now also adorned with the work of over a dozen of local artists. Photo Flash: First Look at Maryland Ensemble Theatre's I AM (NOT) MY MOTHER

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) presents I Am (Not) My Mother, based on true stories from and about the women of Frederick. Written by Suzanne Beal and directed by MET Associate Artistic Director Gene Fouche the show made its World Premiere on the MET stage last July to extremely positive reviews and audience response. DC Metro Theatre Arts gave the original production four stars and Charlie Smith emplored, 'everyone go now', in his review for Want2Dish. Since the World Premiere last year the show has received new productions in Baltimore and in Philadelphia (Society Hill Playhouse). Given the tremendously positive response the play has received the Maryland Ensemble Theatre is bringing the show back for a limited run, July 12 through 21 at MET. Maryland Ensemble Theatre Announces 2013-14 Season

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) has announced its 2013-2014 mainstage season. MET's sixteenth mainstage season will run from September of 2013 through June of 2014 and will feature a British comic classic, an American masterpiece and several contemporary crowd pleasers. MET Artistic Director Tad Janes believes that each of the six mainstage shows in MET's upcoming season will help, 'build on the strong reputation we have earned over the past decade and a half as a destination for challenging, entertaining, professional theater.' Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) is kicking off its 2012-13, 15th anniversary mainstage season with The 39 Steps. Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps, a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre! This 2-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by a ridiculously talented cast of 4), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance! MET Associate Artistic Director Gene' Fouche' directs Patrick Barlow's adaptation of John Buchan's 1915 novel and the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock which opened on Broadway in 2008 and won the Olivier Award for Best New Comedy. The show which The New York Times called, 'theatre at its finest' and the New York Post raved was, 'the most entertaining show on Broadway' ended its New York run after three years and record setting number of performances for a comedy, 1,135. This coming season will feature classic, contemporary and original productions including a recent Off-Broadway smash musical, a Tony-winning Hitchcock adaptation and a time-honored holiday tale.
