2014 sees some new names and some returns to The Crazy Coqs. January starts with the London debut of the sizzling cabaret performer Carole J .Bufford and her show Body and Soul (tonight, January 7 - 11) followed by the popular Broadway star Brent Barrett and his show Night Songs (January 14 -18) and then actress and singer Linda Purl with her show Midnight Caravan: Celebrating the Great Ladies of the Glamorous Nightclub Era of the 40s & 50s (January 21 - 25).

Evergreen Theatrical Productions Ltd in Association with Jermyn Street Theatre presents Ivor Novello's GAY'S THE WORD, a musical comedy, featuring Book and Music by Ivor Novello with Lyrics by Alan Melville. The production is presented by special permission of Samuel French Ltd for the Ivor Novello Trustees. Directed and choreographed by Stewart Nicholls, the show features book adapted by Richard Stirling, musical supervisor Ross Leadbeater, original musical direction by Ben Stock and stars Sophie-Louise Dann, Helena Blackman, Josh Little and Elizabeth Seal. Rumours that The Public Theatre's production of INTO THE WOODS will transfer to Broadway have been fueled once more by The New York Post, which reports that extentions to Donna Murphy, Amy Adams and the rest of the cast's contracts are being negotiated.

According to a report by Michael Riedel of nypost.com, The Public Theater is already considering a Broadway transfer for the revival of INTO THE WOODS which plays the Delacorte in Central Park this Summer.

BroadwayWorld.com has learned that the hit open-air production of INTO THE WOODS that played London's Regent's Park Theatre in 2011 is now planning for a transfer to Central Part's Delacorte Theater as part of the Public Theater's Summer 2012 programming. Casting is said to be underway already for the role of 'The Witch' and that the producers are seeking a big name. Nothing officially has been announced on a possible transfer, as The Public is expecting to announce the 2012 summer season at the Delacorte sometime next month. The Public Theatre had no comment by press time.

Digital Theatre today (14 March 2011) announces the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Into The Woods, which yesterday won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival, is now available for pre-order at www.digitaltheatre.com, for release on Thursday 31 March at 10am.

In celebration of Sondheim's eightieth birthday, the Open Air Theatre season closes with INTO THE WOODS, co-directed by Timothy Sheader and Liam Steel. NATION is the third play in the pilot season of NT Live, the National's ground-breaking initiative which launched in June with the hugely successful broadcast of Phedre with Helen Mirren, which was seen by 50,000 people in 19 countries around the globe.
