It was a reunion for two of the lead actors from Broadway's On the Town when Tony-nominee Tony Yazbeck visited New Hope, PA to see Clyde Alves at Bucks County Playhouse. Alves plays the role of Tago in the world premiere of The New World , the musical comedy that is getting raves from critics. John Timpane of the Philadelphia Inquirer said With sneaky brilliance, beginning to end, The New World is fresh, funny, and fluid. Jean Brenner of Bucks County Herald said, Mark my words, The New World is headed to Broadway: it's special, it's funny, it's delightfully entertaining.'
What do you do when the leading man of a world premiere musical suffers an injury less than 48 hours before the first preview? For Bucks County Playhouse, the answer was simple: Call Justin Guarini.

The Sunday matinee performance of Chita Rivera and Robert Klein, on October 8, 2017 at Queensborough Community College's QPAC (Queensborough Performing Arts Center) was sold out. Before either of the two headliners of film and Broadway stepped onto the stage, QPAC's artistic director, Susan Agin, welcomed the audience. Ms. Agin's enthusiastic persona had the audience ready for this show and many of the shows coming up for this season. I found this endearing and personal because she promoted other headliners by playing snippets of these artists' hits and to encourage everyone not to miss these shows. Brilliant! A few of those upcoming artists are Darlene Love, Debbie Boone, Tony Orlando, and many more headliners from that era. The unique feature of this venue is that there are big stars booked, yet also a neighborhood feel of those that attend performances here.

Boy bands were big in the '90s. Marked by close harmonies, synchronized choreography, and saccharine sex appeal, each had its own image and they were particularly successful with young female audiences. ALTAR BOYZ at the Stoneham Theatre spins the concept, combining it with the popular wave of Christian-themed music, and the result is an original musical revue featuring five singing and dancing boys on the last night of their national "Raise the Praise" tour.
