Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF (Orlando Shakes) will celebrate the opening of their 2017-2018 Season by inviting guests to help them make the impossible, possible at their 29th Season Gala: Dream the Impossible Dream on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 5 p.m. The evening will feature tastings of Central Florida's finest food and beverages as well as a silent auction and raffle. Remaining tickets range from $150 - $250 per person and may be purchased by calling the Box Office at (407) 447-1700 ext. 1 or in person inside the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center, 812 East Rollins Street.

The Los Angeles Master Chorale's 2016 gala celebration, "Broadway on Grand," transports the show-stopping music, dazzling allure and thrilling excitement of 42nd Street to Walt Disney Concert Hall with an exclusive private concert featuring unforgettable songs from American musical theatre, as well as a glamorous cocktail reception in Disney Hall's dramatic lobby and sumptuous post-performance dinner by Patina in BP Hall, on Saturday, March 19, 2016, 6 pm, at the landmark venue in downtown Los Angeles. For the celebration, Artistic Director Grant Gershon conducts the Grammy-nominated chorus in a program of music by such legendary composers as Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim and Cole Porter, with special guest composer/performer Jason Robert Brown, the three-time Tony Award-winning composer of such acclaimed Broadway shows as Parade, The Last Five Years, and The Bridges of Madison County.

The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, one of the nation's leading orchestras renowned for its wide-ranging repertoire and adventurous commissioning initiatives, has named attorney Dana Newman President of the Board of Directors, announced LACO Executive Director Rachel Fine. The Altadena resident succeeds Gene Shutler, who assumes the role of Chairman of the Board after completing a three-year term as President. Fine also announced the appointment of four new board members to three-year terms: Ahsan Aijaz (Los Angeles), vice president, Fortress Investment Group; Leslie Lassiter (Beverly Hills), Los Angeles market manager, J.P. Morgan Private Bank; Raulee Marcus (Long Beach), president, Pinnacle Management; and attorney Shaheen Nanji (Pacific Palisades), principal, Integrated Technologies Group and community leader.
LA Philharmonic Began New Season with Celebration of John Williams, 9/30

The Los Angeles Philharmonic and its Music Director Gustavo Dudamel opened the 2014/15 season with A Celebration of John Williams: Opening Night Gala Concert, a star-studded evening honoring the greatest film composer of all time at Walt Disney Concert Hall, Tuesday, September 30. The event featured the LA Phil, led by Dudamel, world-renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman, soloists Dan Higgins, Glenn Paulson and Michael Valerio, the U.S. Army Herald Trumpets and the Los Angeles Children's Chorus, led by Anne Tomlinson and supported by members from the Angeles Chorale. Also showcased were several elaborate video installations created by projection designer Netia Jones and critically-acclaimed creative studio LIGHTMAP. The all-Williams concert program included specially selected works from throughout his impressive career as well as a surprise appearance during the encores.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) has selected John Hurt, Stacy Keach and Dame Diana Rigg as the 2014 recipients of The William Shakespeare Award for Classical Theatre (Will Award), which recognizes artists who have made significant contributions to classical theatre in America. The Beech Street Foundation will be awarded the Sidney Harman Award for Philanthropy in the Arts. The awards will be presented at the Harman Center for the Arts Annual Gala on Sunday, October 5, 2014, hosted by STC at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) and the National Building Museum (440 G Street NW).
