The New York premiere of PLAY DEAD, a new Off-Broadway thriller co-written and directed by Teller (of Penn & Teller) and co-written & performed by Todd Robbins, will begin performances at Off-Broadway's Players Theater (115 MacDougal Street at Minetta Lane) on Thursday, October 21 for an open-ended run. The official press opening is slated for Wednesday, November 10.

Hallmark Channel, the biggest holiday destination in television, presents a Hallmark Channel Original Movie World Premiere, 'The Santa Suit,' starring Kevin Sorbo ('Andromeda,' 'Hercules'), Thursday, December 2 (8p.m. ET/PT, 7C). In 'The Santa Suit,' Sorbo plays greedy elitist and Hunter Toys CEO Derek Hunter who looks down on the whole of humanity until he is suddenly transformed from Fortune 500 phenom to Santa Claus to learn that when people are stripped of worldly splendor, and have nothing except their humanity to define them, they tend to make more heartfelt and purposeful choices.

Nearly the entire show featured world-premiere songs, created for the evening, by such composers as Grammy Award winners Desmond Child and Julie Gold. This year's honoree was producer Michael Butler. He is one of the most successful theatrical producers, lauded for bringing HAIR to Broadway in 1968, and an active proponent of youth creating positive global social change.

On Saturday, November 27, Ben Folds will perform "Keys to Music City," a benefit for the Nashville Symphony at Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Andrew Jackson Hall.

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the cast and creative team for the West Coast Premiere of Kristoffer Diaz's Welcome to Arroyo's. Directed by Jaime Castañeda, the hip hop-infused play will run in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre Sept. 25 - Oct. 31. Previews run Sept. 25 - Sept. 29. Opening night is Thursday, Sept. 30 at 7:00 p.m. Welcome to Arroyo's will also be performed at Lincoln High School Center for the Arts Nov. 6 and 7 as part of the Globe's Southeastern San Diego Residency Project.
