Talk Back Bios:

DAVID SAX - August 30
David Sax is a freelance journalist originally from Toronto. He lived for three years in both Buenos Aires, Argentina and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, covering South American politics, business, travel and culture for publications including the Globe and Mail, the Walrus, Wine Spectator, Foreign Policy, and the New Republic...not to mention a few surfing magazines. After returning to Canada in 2005 he continued writing articles, including regular pieces for Toronto Life, and contributions to Rolling Stone, GQ, American Way, and The Huffington Post. His first book, Save the Deli, will be published by McClelland and Stewart (Canada) and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (USA) in fall 2009. The book, a cultural history and travelogue of the Jewish delicatessen business, has led to the creation of David's popular blog www.savethedeli.com. David recently moved to New York, where he writes for magazines such as Portfolio and New York.

Tom Santopietro - September 20
Tom Santopietro is the author of Sinatra in Hollywood, Considering Doris Day (New York Times "Editor's Choice"), and The Importance of Being Barbra. He lectures on all three books around the country and performs "The Best Is Yet To Come", a tribute to Frank Sinatra, with singer/pianist Tony DeSare. A manager of over twenty Broadway shows during the past twenty-five years, he is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law. He is extremely happy not to be practicing law, a state of affairs applauded by the American Bar Association.
Next life: Wimbledon champion.

Adapted by Patrick Barlow and directed by Maria Aitken, THE 39 STEPS is based on an original concept by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon and on the book by John Buchan.

THE 39 STEPS features a cast of four actors who, against all odds, breathlessly and hilariously attempt to reenact all of the characters, locations and famous scenes in Hitchcock's 1935 film thriller with just a few props and a lot of theatrical ingenuity and split second quick changes.

The cast features John Behlmann as Richard Hannay, Cameron Folmar as Man #2, Jamie Jackson as Man #1 and Kate MacCluggage as Annabella Schmidt/Pamela/Margaret. The production also features Greg Jackson and Jane Pfitsh.

Set and costume design is by Peter McKintosh, lighting design is by Kevin Adams and sound design is by Mic Pool. Original movement was created by Toby Sedgwick. Additional movement is created by Christopher Bayes. Production stage manager is M. William Shiner.
