Herb Alpert's Vibrato Grill Jazz...Etc. will present ARIANA SAVALAS - 'SOPHISTICATED LADY,' a CD Release and Birthday Celebration, Starring singer Ariana Savalas, with Guest Artist Pianist, Corky Hale for a One Night Only engagement on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. at Herb Alpert's Vibrato Grill, Jazz, Etc.; 2930 N. Beverly Glen Circle; Bel Air, Calif. Savalas will be accompanied by Joe Bagg, Piano; Steve Venz, Bass; Andy Sanesi, Drums and Steve Cottor, Guitar. Savalas will not only be celebrating her birthday that night, but the completion of her first jazz album entitled 'SOPHISTICATED LADY.' The concert will be followed by a CD signing.

A Twist of Lemmon: A Tribute to My Father is a memoir-styled book concerning the life of famed American actor Jack Lemmon, as viewed through the eyes of his son, Christopher Lemmon. The book was published in May 2006 by Algonquin Books, and features a foreword by Kevin Spacey, who credits Jack Lemmon with his pursuit of acting.

Broadway star Marla Mindelle's (Cinderella, Sister Act) short film The Devil's Bitch has been named as an official selection in the 2012 Friar's Club Comedy Film Festival. Mindelle stars in the darkly comic musical short, which she co-created with Jonathan Parks-Ramage, New York based writer/producer.

This year's lineup of the Friars Club Comedy Film Festival includes comedic works from both shorts and features. Featured among the stellar shorts in the program is the award-winning film FOODIE which screens on Friday 10/26 at 6:30pm and will also play in the upcoming Fort Lauderdale Film Festival and the Cucalorus Film Festival in November. Richard Pryor Jr., actor, singer and offspring of one of Hollywood's most acclaimed talents returns to showbiz as a tribute to his late father the legendary King of comedy: Richard Pryor.

Friar Regis Philbin just took part in a fun-filled night that celebrated his new book "How I Got This Way." Friar Bill Boggs interviewed Regis in a one-on-one discussion that shared his fascinating and hilarious celebrity stories. Stewie Stone also joined them as a special treat. On Monday, October 1, the Friars Club presented 'Remembering the Oak Room: A musical tribute by its headliners.' This 90-minute program was held in memory of the legendary cabaret venue, featuring nearly a dozen A-list performers whose careers were closely associated with the nightclub in the Algonquin Hotel.

Todd Barry brings his signature deadpan delivery and observational style back to Comedy Central with the release of his new special Todd Barry: Super Crazy. The extended and uncensored CD and DVD are set for release today, July 24th via Comedy Central.

Due to recent health issues, Freddie Roman was unable to perform in the Friars Club Comedy Festival which he curated for the Mahaiwe and had planned to host. The show went on in Freddie's honor, with his long-time friend Stewie Stone, the Prior of the Friars, stepping in as host and with Freddies favorite, on-the-rise stand-up comics carrying on the Catskills comedy tradition.
