Palm Beach Dramaworks Presents Pulitzer Prize Winning PROOF

West Palm Beach's only resident professional theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks, concludes its spring season with David Auburn's Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Proof" on Friday, May 25th (8PM) at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre(201 Clematis Street). Special priced preview performances are slated for May 23rd & 24th with regularly scheduled curtain times through June 17th.

Based on Anthol Fugard's early life in South Africa, 'MASTER HAROLD'...and the boys tells the story of Willie and Sam, two black waiters who work in the St. George's Park Tea Room, and Hally, the tea room owner's son. Hally has known Willie and Sam all his life, and is very fond of them both; however, on one rainy day in 1950 their wide-ranging discussions illustrate all that unites us and the gulf that still divides us. Considered to be one of Fugard's greatest pieces, '"Master Harold"…and the boys" tells the universal story of human relationships that are put to the test by societal and personal forces.

Nominations for the 57th Annual Drama Desk Awards will be announced at a news conference on Friday, April 27, 2011, at 9:30 AM at Feinstein's at the Loews Regency, 540 Park Avenue at 61st Street, in Manhattan. A continental breakfast will be available at 8:45 AM. Drama Desk winners Donna Murphy and Brian d'Arcy James will announce the nominations in the various categories. In addition, there will be remarks by Drama Desk President Isa Goldberg, Drama Desk Awards Executive Producer Robert R. Blume and new Drama Desk Awards Executive Producer Gretchen Shugart, Nominating Committee Chairperson Barbara Siegel and Randie Levine-Miller, Drama Desk Director of Special Events, who annually produces this event.

First published in 1970, the play won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, and the Obie Award for Best American Play.
