TV Special First Look: Patti LuPone Sings, Chats & Opens the New 54 Below in Grand Style!

Yesterday, June 5, theatre legend Patti LuPone opened the new nightclub and restaurant, 54 Below, with a two-week engagement of a new act that will run through June 16. Before the star took the stage for the evening performance, she treated the press to a special sneak peek of the show and BroadwayWorld was there to talk to the star and capture her memorable performance!

LuPone will play the venue Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8pm and Fridays and Saturdays at 11pm. Provincetown Theater to Present THE DIVINE SISTER, 7/12-9/8

The Cape Cod premiere of the smash hit off-Broadway comedy THE DIVINE SISTER opens July 12 at the Provincetown Theater, and runs Thursday, Friday, and Saturday through September 8th. Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival Announces Programming Lineup

The 7th Provincetown Tennessee Williams Festival announced that this year's program of "Tennessee Williams and Music" will present the pleasures of music in the drama of America's great playwright. The seaside village of Provincetown will be alive with the sounds of blues, Mariachi, Dixieland, American Pop, Art Song and African drums. Theater artists from around the globe will converge on this art colony where Williams worked over several summers in the 1940s, performing his classics, his little known works and new works that he has inspired.

Jane Lynch, Carol Burnett Set for BACKSTAGE AT THE GEFFEN Tonight, 6/4

Emmy Award winning actress Jane Lynch will host this year's Backstage at the Geffen fundraiser, which recognizes leadership in the theater community while raising support for the theater's artistic and outreach initiatives, honoring Hollywood legend Carol Burnett and Chairman and CEO of Fox Filmed Entertainment Jim Gianopulos. Ms. Burnett will receive the Distinction in Theater Award and Mr. Gianopulos will be presented with the Distinction in Service Award by entertainment icon and longtime colleague Warren Beatty. The star-studded event will be co-chaired by Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company Robert A. Iger and his wife, journalist Willow Bay. This irreverent evening of laughter, music and stories, which is sponsored by City National Bank, will be held tonight, June 4, 2012 at the Geffen Playhouse.

New York Public Library Hosts GROWING UP GONZALEZ Pop-Up Performance Today, 6/2

The New York Public Library (NYPL) and Souleo Enterprises LLC, an event/media production company, have formed a partnership to provide adult library patrons with an exciting line-up of artistic/cultural, LGBT and financial literacy summer programming, beginning June 2012. Highlighting the evolving role of libraries as educational culture hubs, programming includes improv performances by the National Comedy Theater; make-up makeovers by NYC's top drag queens such as Hedda Lettuce; a panel on LGBT hip-hop; celebrity impersonators discussing diva worship; music industry veterans Meli'sa Morgan, Full Force and Christopher "Play" Martin discussing overcoming financial struggles; a master class in career reinvention by George C. Fraser; interactive workshops featuring the iconic drag entertainer John Epperson (Lypsinka's Maid); a fashion reinvention design workshop with Beau McCall; and much more. Robin de Jesus is Aladdin & John Tartaglia the Genie in MUNY's ALADDIN! Full Cast Announced

The Muny announced today principal casting for the third show of its 94th season, Disney's Aladdin (July 5-13), directed by Gary Griffin, and choreographed by Alex Sanchez. Tony® Nominees Robin de Jesus and John Tartaglia star as Aladdin and the Genie, respectively. Joining them will be Jason Graae as Omar, Curtis Holbrook as Iago, Francis Jue as Kassim, Eddie Korbich as Babkak, Samantha Massell as Jasmine, Ken Page as the Sultan, and Thom Sesma as Jafar.

Tickets Go on Sale for Edward Hall's CHARIOTS OF FIRE West End Transfer

Almost 17,000 stadium seats go on sale today (30 May 2012) for the West End transfer of Chariots of Fire. Following its sell-out run at Hampstead Theatre, Edward Hall's production will open at the Gielgud Theatre on 23 June 2012 where it is currently booking to 10 November 2012. Inspired by Colin Welland's original screenplay, award-winning playwright Mike Bartlett's new adaptation is based on the true story of Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams' inspirational tale of hope, honour and belief.

THE IN-BETWEEN Concept Album CD to be Launched June 23 - Sabrina Aloueche, Daniel Boys, Dianne Pilkington & Lauren Samuels to Sign

A CD version of the concept album for new musical The In-Between is being released by Dress Circle on Saturday 23 June 2012. The album will be launched with an in-store signing from 11am to 12 noon, with cast members just announced to attend including West End stars Sabrina Aloueche, Daniel Boys, Dianne Pilkington and Lauren Samuels.
