Theatre Harrisburg opens its 90th Mainstage season with MY WAY, a musical tribute to Frank Sinatra celebrating his 100th birthday with his greatest hits.

As a special tribute to the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and a heartfelt acknowledgement to “The Greatest Generation,” The Capital Jazz Orchestra will perform the music of the legendary Glenn Miller on Sunday, October 4, at 4pm. The Capital Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Clayton “Skip” Poole, will be joined by special guests Dave Scott, Liz Saunders, and the More Than Four vocal quartet for an evening that is sure to transport audiences back to the swing era with Miller classics including 'In the Mood', 'Pennsylvania 6-5000', 'Chattanooga Choo Choo', '(I've Got a Gal In) Kalamazoo', and more!

Debby Boone kicks off Crescendo Chapter of The Guilds of Segerstrom Center's annual speakers series, which features celebrated artists or experts in their arts-related fields, today, September 10, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. The events are on the second Thursday of September and November, 2015 and January and March, 2015.

Acclaimed trumpeter Wynton Marsalis will perform a 'Tribute to Clark Terry' with the New Jersey City University Alumni Jazz Big Band conducted by NJCU Professor Richard Lowenthal. 

Delaware Theatre Company, under the artistic leadership of Bud Martin, excitedly welcomes dance legend Maurice Hines to Wilmington with his new musical MAURICE HINES IS TAPPIN' THRU LIFE. Six exciting performances have been added to the roster of  the McCallum Theatre's 2015-2016 season, including Bill Maher, Hank and My Honky Tonk Heroes Starring Jason Petty, Last Comic Standing, Canadian superstar Jesse Cook, Wynonna and The Big Noise and the triumphant McCallum return of 2CELLOS.  Brochures with these added performances and the entire season should reach local mailboxes by the second week of September. Walnut Street Theatre opens its landmark 207th season with the sparkling Broadway musical featuring the classic sounds of Cole Porter, HIGH SOCIETY. TITAS Presents, in association with the AT&T Performing Arts Center, proudly announced today that it is co-commissioning an evening of new work by Twyla Tharp, one of the most important and influential choreographers of our time. The work will premiere in Dallas at the AT&T Performing Arts Center Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House on September 18 and 19, launching Tharp's Fiftieth Anniversary Tour. The 10-week North American tour will celebrate Tharp's five decades of dance-making for both modern and ballet companies, television, the Broadway stage and Hollywood films.

Following a sold-out engagement at London's Hippodrome, San Francisco native Holly Penfield makes her Feinstein's at the Nikko debut with her acclaimed show, HOLLY PENFIELD SINGS JUDY GARLAND on Thursday, October 15 at 8 p.m.  Penfield will present the songs of the legendary Judy Garland in her own inimitable style.

Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell makes his Cafe Carlyle debut to open the fall season, September 15-26. The two-week engagement, entitled Plays With Music, will feature Broadway favorites, standards and jazz filled with beauty, joy, whimsy, romance and of course, his inspired vocal interpretations. Stephen Holden of The New York Times recently said that Stokes "brings an unprecedented fusion of theatrical heroism, pop-jazz sizzle and emotional vulnerability" and that he has "revealed an expressive fearlessness that among male pop singers has been matched only by Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles." He will be accompanied by a trio led by his long-time pianist and collaborator, Tedd Firth with Gary Haase on bass and Mark McLean on drums.

CDI/Concert Dance, Inc. returns as part of the 2015 Ruth Page Festival of Dance at Ravinia this week, Sept. 1 & 2 at 7:30 p.m., in Bennett Gordon Hall, 200 Ravinia Park Rd., Highland Park.

Meg McLynn was a huge hit with the audience last season in her tribute to Patsy Cline, so this time she returns with a tribute to one of the most iconic singers of all time, Judy Garland, in “I Could Go On Singing: The Judy Garland Songbook”. Musical director David Duvall will join Meg once again on the baby grand for the Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 2 PM performance at the Arthur Newman Theatre located at the Joslyn Center in Palm Desert as part of the Sundays In Summer Cabaret Series produced by Les Michaels.  

Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch return to Bemelmans Bar at The Carlyle Hotel with an evening of swinging standards every Sunday in September, November and December, from 9pm - 12 midnight.  The duo has recently added dozens of songs made famous by Frank Sinatra to their repertoire, thanks to their current national tour of The Sinatra Century.  In this upcoming Carlyle run, Caruso and Stritch will be joined by bassist Steve Doyle.
