Roundabout Theatre Company's new Broadway production of The Rose Tattoo officially opened last night, October 15, 2019, at the American Airlines Theatre. 

The New 42nd Street has named Russell Granet as its new President & CEO, the organization announced today. 

The New 42nd Street Gala will celebrate the vision and legacy of Cora Cahan, founding President & CEO, as she steps down after 29 years of extraordinary leadership. Proceeds from the Monday, June 3, 2019, event at The Plaza Hotel will benefit The New Victory Theater's innovative arts and engagement programs which reach more than 55,000 kids each year. 

Cora Cahan, the founding President and CEO of The New 42nd Street, has announced that she will step down at the end of June 2019.

The Tooting Arts Club production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street makes history today as it becomes the longest running production of Sweeney Todd on record. Today's performance marks 558, surpassing the 1979 Original Broadway Production directed by Hal Prince.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street will play its final performance on August 26, 2018 after a successful run at New York's Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street).

On Saturday night, the New 42nd Street honored J.K. Rowling in absentia with the New Victory Arts Award and host a benefit performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at The Lyric Theatre. The event, which included a strolling supper at The New Victory Theater, provides critical support to the nonprofit's award-winning arts education and youth employment programs. Guests included Steve Martin, Julianna Margulies, Michael Greif, Bethany Frankel, Carter Bays, Craig Thomas, Chairman of the Board of The New 42nd Street Fiona Rudin, and President of The New 42nd Street Cora Cahan.

The Tooting Arts Club production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street played its 500th performance last night, Sunday, April 29, at New York's Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street)

It was announced today that due to continued popular demand, off-Broadway's Sweeney Todd will extend through August 26, 2018. The production celebrated its one year anniversary this week, continuing its streak as the longest running musical to play New York's Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street).

The New 42nd Street will honor J.K. Producers of the Tooting Arts Club production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, which broke the Barrow Street Theatre sales house record for the week ending December 31st, announced today that Thom Sesma (as Sweeney Todd), Sally Ann Triplett (as Mrs. Lovett), Zachary Noah Piser (as Tobias), Billy Harrigan Tighe (as Anthony) and DeLaney Westfall (as Johanna) will join current cast members Michael James Leslie (as Judge Turpin), John Rapson (as The Beadle) and Stacie Bono (as Pirelli & Beggar Woman) startingTuesday, February 27, 2018. The cast also includes Matt Leisy, Liz Pearce, Danny Rothman and Monet Sabel.
