Producers for the Tooting Arts Club production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street announced today that they have sold their 20,000thpie downtown where the show is performing at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street).

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the Tooting Arts Club production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street will welcome Hugh Panaro (as Sweeney Todd) with Jake Boyd (as Anthony), Eryn LeCroy (as Johanna), Michael James Leslie (as Judge Turpin) and John Rapson (as The Beadle) will join the cast including Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello (as Mrs. Lovett), Stacie Bono (as Pirelli & Beggar Woman) and John-Michael Lyles (as Tobias) this week at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street). The Off-Broadway League today announced nominations in 19 categories for the 32nd Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway.

The producers of Sweeney Todd have now announced that Tony Award nominee Norm Lewis (as Sweeney Todd), Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello (as Mrs. Lovett), Jamie Jackson(as Judge Turpin) and John-Michael Lyles (as Tobias) will join the production starting April 11, 2017.  Matt Doyle (as Anthony), Alex Finke (as Johanna), Betsy Morgan (as Pirelli & Beggar Woman) and Brad Oscar (as The Beadle) will continue with the production. The cast also includes Colin Anderson, Liz Pearce and Monet Sabel.

The New 42nd Street just hosted its annual Gala, celebrating 25 years, last night, April 11 at The New Victory Theater. The evening honored Douglas Durst, Bruce C. Ratner, Daniel R. Tishman, and Mortimer B. Zuckerman with the Marian Heiskell Award and President of The New 42nd Street, Cora Cahan, with the New Victory Arts Award. The New 42nd Street has announced that its annual Gala, to be held Monday, November 18 at The New Victory Theater, will honor visionary entertainment leader Michael D. Eisner with the New Victory Arts Award for bringing kids to the arts and the arts to kids. Barry Diller and Thomas Schumacher will serve as Gala honorary chairs.
