Although the organization continues to grow, Rooftop Films will never stop supporting the work of up-and-coming short filmmakers. For this reason, they are excited to kick off their 2018 Summer Series with three programs of innovative and unorthodox short films from around the world. On Saturday, May 19, Rooftop will celebrate Opening Night in Green-Wood Cemetery with This is What We Mean by Short Films, a program that captures the adventurous spirit of the organization; on Friday, May 25 Rooftop will return to The Old American Can Factory in Gowanus for No Escape a selection of uncanny, disquieting mindbenders; and on Saturday, May 26 Rooftop will present its annual program of Dark Toons at Industry City. 

Maine State Music Theatre opens its 60thseason with a new title to the Pickard Stage. Million Dollar Quartet is produced in association with the Fulton Theatre and is the electrifying story of how four stars made music history! Million Dollar Quartet runs from June 6 to June 23. 

Songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, composers of some of the greatest blues, jazz, R&B, and rock and roll hits of all time, will be inducted into the American Jazz Walk of Fame in Kansas City, MO on Saturday, June 2.  Their names will be embedded in a bronze medallion on the sidewalk near the Jazz Museum.

As 'Melissa' and 'Andy,' these two stunning artists bring complexity and humanity to Gurney's timeless play about love, friendship, loss, challenges and the art of letter writing. Underscoring their love for New York's theatre scene, Ms. Dillon and Mr. Dullea share this production as a benefit for the award winning Articulate Theatre Company.

Overture Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the Wisconsin premiere and the state's only engagement of the hit Broadway musical ON YOUR FEET! will take the Overture Hall stage Today, May 15-Sunday, May 20. Based on the life story of seven-time GRAMMY® winning international superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband, 19-time GRAMMY® winning producer-musician-entrepreneur Emilio Estefan, the first national tour stars Cuban-American Broadway actress Christie Prades as Gloria Estefan, and acclaimed stage and television actor Mauricio Martinez as Emilio Estefan.

Walnut Street Theatre concludes its landmark 209th season with the ultimate feel-good musical, MAMMA MIA! Filled with ABBA's catchiest hits, and directed and choreographed by Richard Stafford, this high energy musical begins previews on May 15th, opens on May 23rd, and runs through July 15th on the Walnut Mainstage.

Now in rehearsals, Steppenwolf Theatre Company is thrilled to present Guards at the Taj, a stunning tale about the search for beauty in desperate circumstances, written by acclaimed playwright Rajiv Joseph (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo). As previously announced, ensemble member Amy Morton directs this Chicago premiere, featuring the original cast members, Omar Metwally (Humayun) and Arian Moayed (Babur), who were last seen on Steppenwolf's stage together in Homebody/Kabul. Morton directed the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway world premiere, which won the 2016 Obie Award for Best New American Play.

Local Philadelphia performance artists and musicians will join Mac in these final U.S. performances of the full, 24-hour-long pop odyssey, June 2 & 9 at the Kimmel Center's Merriam Theater, as part of the 2018 Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA). Mac will perform A 24-Decade History of Popular Music as two distinct 12-hour concerts, Saturday, June 2 (1776-1896) and Saturday, June 9 (1896-present day) - Mac's longest continuous performances since the work premiered at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn in 2016.

With book and lyrics by Monty Python actor Eric Idle, music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle, directed by Sean Murray with musical direction by Terry O'Donnell and choreography by Katie Banville, the production runs June 27 through August 5. Opening Night for media is June 30.

Broadway By the Bay continues their 2018 season with the rockin' Broadway smash, Million Dollar Quartet. In December 1956, in a small Memphis recording studio, four icons of music met-and had a jam-session that changed rock-n-roll forever. Broadway By the Bay invites music lovers of all ages to take their seats at the historic Fox Theater in downtown Redwood City as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins take to the stage for this story of a singular moment in rock-n-roll history, and a night of legendary music that lived on in infamy.
