Write Out Loud - an organization founded in 2007 with a commitment to inspire, challenge and entertain by reading literature aloud for a live audience presents The American West, the final production in their American Season XI, a season that focuses on American stories by American authors. Write Out Loud Story Concerts bring literature to life - aloud - with rehearsed readings by professional actors. Each program explores specific themes by weaving a variety of stories and poems together into a literary tapestry. The American West features San Diego performers Fran Gercke, Jessica John Gercke, Susan Clausen, Veronica Murphy and Walter Ritter. A complimentary pre-show reception starts at 6:15pm with a 7:00pm curtain.

On Saturday, June 2, Rooftop Films will return to Green-Wood Cemetery for the New York Premiere of the hilarious Western-comedy Damsel. The evening will feature live music and an after-party with drinks from Corona Extra, Ketel One Family Made Vodka, and Fever-Tree. Now in rehearsals, Steppenwolf Theatre Company is thrilled to present Guards at the Taj, a stunning tale about the search for beauty in desperate circumstances, written by acclaimed playwright Rajiv Joseph (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo). As previously announced, ensemble member Amy Morton directs this Chicago premiere, featuring the original cast members, Omar Metwally (Humayun) and Arian Moayed (Babur), who were last seen on Steppenwolf's stage together in Homebody/Kabul. Morton directed the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway world premiere, which won the 2016 Obie Award for Best New American Play.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) will begin previews for a limited eight-week run of the Abbey Theatre and the Royal Court Theatre's acclaimed production of CYPRUS AVENUE on Saturday, June 2. The new play, written by David Ireland and directed by Royal Court Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone, features Stephen Rea, who last performed at The Public in 2008 in Sam Shepard's Kicking a Dead Horse. The run at The Public follows encore engagements at Dublin's Peacock Stage at the Abbey Theatre (April 30-May 19) and the MAC in Belfast (May 23-26). CYPRUS AVENUE will run through Sunday, July 29 in The Public's LuEsther Hall, with an official press opening on Monday, June 25.

Cortland Repertory Theatre Box Office Open For Summer Business

The Cortland Repertory Theatre Box Office will open for all summer ticket sales for their 47th annual season starting on Monday, May 21st. The Box Office is located at 24 Port Watson Street in downtown Cortland, and is open Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, and on Saturdays from noon - 6:00 PM. Once performances begin at the Little York Pavilion, the Box Office at that location is open 90 minutes before show time, on performance days only.
