36-year-old Russian-born German pianist Igor Levit has become the youngest ever recipient of The Wigmore Hall Medal.  In recognition of his outstanding musical achievements and contribution to Wigmore Hall, Levit received the medal from Wigmore Hall director John Gilhooly following Levit's performance of the complete late piano works of Johannes Brahms at the Hall on Friday 19 January.

As the 2023 Festival draws to a close, Glyndebourne has announced the programme for 2024, when the company marks its 90th anniversary year.

Wigmore Hall's 2023/24 season was announced by John Gilhooly, the Hall's Director. With more than 500 concerts from September 2023 to July 2024 featuring some 2500 artists performing music from the past six centuries, it is the largest programme of classical music concerts in the UK.

Today is the last day of Follies at the National Theatre, which means we have time for just one more Song Insight before they part, as Nigel Lilley talks 'One More Kiss'.

Follies returns to the NT for its final eight performances at the National Theatre on 6 May. Stephen Sondheim's legendary musical includes such classic songs as 'Broadway Baby', 'I'm Still Here' and 'Losing My Mind'. Featuring a cast of 40 and an orchestra of 21, Follies is directed by Dominic Cooke.

The acclaimed composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim has been made an Honorary Member of the Royal Philharmonic Society in recognition of his outstanding services to music.
