Press is invited to attend the performance on Thursday, November 14 at 8:00pm. Keeping with its tradition of partnering with community oriented non-profits during its holiday productions, Olney Theatre will be accepting donations of new or gently used coats to be distributed to community members in-need by One Warm Coat.

BWW Review: Flying V's WE'RE GONNA DIE An Instant Rock Cult Classic

Can a show about death and dying leave you dancing in the aisles? Well, actually it can - and blowing bubbles and tossing beach balls in the air, too. Fur real. Just come on down to Bethesda's Writer's Center for Flying V Theatre's latest offering, New York playwright Young Jean Lee's We're Gonna Die. Flying V company member Farrell Parker takes you on a young woman's gut-wrenching journey, punching back at every piece of rotten luck that comes her way.

BWW Review: AS YOU LIKE IT at Brave Spirits Theatre

'I like this place, and willingly could waste my time in it.' This line, spoken by Celia (Rebecca Speas) early in As You Like It, is an appropriate way to describe the vibe of Brave Spirits Theatre's new production of Shakespeare's comedy, directed by Jessica Aimone. It's an amiable production of one of the most laid-back plays in the canon, led by a charismatic cast whose chief concern is our entertainment. On that front, it's a success.

BST Presents Shakespeare's AS YOU LIKE IT With Original Music

Escape to the forest of Arden with a romantic and immersive production of As You Like It. Four charming couples swoon, banter, argue, and fall deeply in love against the background of an original, modern score. This production reunites the team behind our entertaining, touching, and bittersweet production of A Midsummer Night's Dream: director Jessica Aimone and music director and composer Zach Roberts. Join Brave Spirits Theatre for the wedding of the year!

BWW REVIEW: FANCY NANCY: SPLENDIFEROUS CHRISTMAS at Adventure Theatre

We all know how stressful the holidays can be, especially finding the perfect gift for friends and family. But what about the perfect accoutrement, - that's a fancy word now isn't it - for the top of your Christmas tree? Yes, the tree topper can make or break any holiday celebration and you won't find a better illustration of this fact than Adventure Theatre's super splendid (that's a fancy word for really excellent) production of Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas. The show boasts a score by Randy Klein (music), Matthew Hardy (lyrics) and Cara Lustik and Matthew Hardy (book).

Photo Flash: 1st Stage Presents Award-Winning Musical FLY BY NIGHT

It's 1965 in New York City and the lights are about to go out. But not before a melancholy sandwich maker becomes enchanted with two sisters in this bittersweet romantic tale about finding hope in a world best by darkness. This truly original rock-fable, nominated for 4 Drama Desk Awards, will sweep audiences off their feet and enchant them in an evening under the stars filled with romance, mystery and enchantment… but not a lot of light.

BWW Review: FLY BY NIGHT at 1st Stage

Written and composed by Will Connolly, Michael Mitnick, and Kim Rosenstock, Fly By Night is an appealing mish-mash of rock n' roll, opera, and classic music theater. It is an ode to a doomed love affair and a modern-day fairytale.

BWW Review: FROSTY Serves Up an Adventure

Gene Autry's famous song, Frosty The Snowman (written by Jack Rolling and Steve Nelson) first the radio in December of 1950 and since then there have been many incarnations of Frosty: from famous recordings like The Chipmunks or The Jackson 5 to the beloved 1969 animated special, which airs on TV every year. A new version of this holiday classic written by William Francis is currently playing at Adventure Theatre MTC in Glen Echo Park.

BWW Review: THE WILD PARTY at The Constellation Theatre

Queenie and Burrs are the story of a once steamy love gone stale. Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party tells their story as they lash out in manipulation and jealousy. Directed by Allison Arkell Stockman, The Constellation Theatre's production opened on September 21. Told against the backdrop of a seedy New York City apartment in the 1920's, this musical is good dirty fun. As all musical theatre fans know, nothing is sexier than the sound of a muted trumpet in low lighting.

BWW Interview: CHATTING WITH THE WILD PARTY CAST AT CONSTELLATION THEATRE COMPANY

At the Constellation Theatre, D.C.-based actors Jimmy Mavrikes and Farrell Parker are wowing audiences with their riveting portrayals of flawed lovers, Queenie and Burrs, a vaudevillian clown. Both feel the need to recapture the fire that brought them together, so they decide to throw a party which Mavrikes describes as a rollercoaster. They sat down with D.C. correspondent Isabella Basco to discuss the show and why audiences should watch the show playing now until October 29, 2017.

BWW Reviews: Flying V's THE PIRATE LAUREATE Sails Again in Truly Hilarious Form

Flying V, a young company that has earned a devoted following with their whimsical originality, returns triumphantly with another episode in their 'Pirate Laureate' series. Our story is set once again in the fictional realm of Ephrata, where poetry kicks tail, the pen is mightier than the sword and the hottest duels feature poets at ten paces, scribbling furiously or improvising on the spot.
