Murder for Two: Holiday Edition opens tonight at Farmers Alley Theatre! It's a hilarious musical murder were one actor investigates the crime, the other plays all of the suspects, and they both play the piano. BWW Detroit had moment to speak with star and co-creator, Joe Kinosian, about creative and festive show happening in West Michigan.

Act II Playhouse in Ambler, PA announces its return to a Mainstage Season with “Really Good Tidings,” a hilarious, holiday-inspired new variety show. “We are thrilled to be back in front of live audiences with a new show,” said Tony Braithwaite, Artistic Director. “We opened to smaller houses earlier this fall with very successful evenings of live music and stand-up comedy, and we're ready to welcome patrons to full productions.” 

One of Farmers Alley Theatre’s most popular and requested shows is coming back to West Michigan, this time with a festive twist when MURDER FOR TWO: HOLIDAY EDITION premiers November 19th-December 12th.

Farmers Alley Theatre will kick off its season with Jason Robert Brown's emotive song cycle, SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD – running October 8-24, directed by Broadway star and Kalamazoo native, Jerry Dixon who starred on Broadway in the musicals Once on this Island, Five Guys Named Moe and If/Then to name a few.

Located in the heart of Downtown Kalamazoo, Farmers Alley Theatre is bursting at the seams to  open their doors and welcome live audiences into their space for the first time since March of 2020. 

Mallory King, currently starring as Babette and Lily St. Regis in Tuacahn Center for the Arts' productions of Annie and Beauty and the Beast, took over our Instagram story on July 8 and gave us incredible behind-the-scenes looks at both shows, plus rehearsals for their upcoming productions of The Count of Monte Cristo and School of Rock.

Farmers Alley Theatre is once again bringing live theatre to the people free of charge with their Theatre  for Young Audiences production of SHE PERSISTED, THE MUSICAL.

Farmers Alley Theatre is bringing the show to your home this Summer with BACKYARD BROADWAY – a  45-minute musical revue starring Kalamazoo Favorites like The Koch Family, Whitney Weiner, Este'Fan  Kizer, Mary Teutsch, and more! 

Farmers Alley Theatre continues to innovate online with Spotlight Sessions Vol. 2: “Songs in the Key of Mom” to celebrate Moms everywhere this Mother's Day!

From the mind of award-winning local composer Joriah Kwamé, SOPHIA, OUR BELOVED is the inaugural event of the Farmers Alley Theatre Creators Studio and will stream digitally on Ludus Anywhere Seat on Friday March 26th & Saturday March 27th at 8pm and  Sunday March 28th at 2pm. Tickets will be free to the public but do require registration online.  

Featuring seven incredible vocalists and Farmers Alley Favorites, this unique performance package is the perfect treat this February: it doesn’t need watering, always fits like a glove, and is more satisfying then anything in a heart-shaped box.

Broadway On Demand will present several special showings, including La Jolla Playhouse’s Spittin Truth to Power (January 19), The Hub Theatre Group’s James Baldwin Project (January 18), The Conviction of Lady Lorraine written and performed by Dwandra Nickole Lampkin (January 15 – January 24), and more.

Winners have been announced for the 2020 BroadwayWorld Detroit Awards - which were back bigger than ever, celebrating the best in local theatre of the past decade! 

The phrase “I'll be Home for Christmas” has a new meaning this year, and Farmers Alley Theatre is  celebrating the season with an exciting musical event bringing together Homegrown Talent with some  fantastic local arts organizations in HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS – Streaming digitally on Broadway On  Demand from December 12th-24th. Hosted by Farmers Alley Founders Adam & Rob Weiner and Denene  Mulay Koch & Jeremy Koch, this 90-minute concert will feature favorite holiday classics, new seasonal  songs and a dose of Christmas magic delivered straight to your living room! 

Premiering November 19th and available through November 29th on the streaming platform Broadway On Demand, this this carefully curated concert will feature your favorite songs, scenes and never-before-seen archival footage from some of their most beloved productions.

Streaming thru November 29th this carefully curated concert will feature your favorite songs,  scenes and never-before-seen archival footage from some of our most beloved productions. There are  three different digital ticket packages that our patrons can choose from and each includes a ticket to  enjoy this event - straight from the comfort of their home via Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Roku,  smartphone, tablet or computer. 

Farmers Alley Theatre is determined to create moving and powerful art this fall and connect deeply with audiences in many new ways.  That all begins this October with the original one-woman show, The Conviction of Lady Lorraine, written and performed by Dwandra Nickole Lampkin.  

Farmers Alley Theatre, Face Off Theatre Company and The Black Arts and Cultural Center will partner together to present some awesome outdoor Theatre for Young Audiences, with the jammin' musical, Bob Marley's THREE LITTLE BIRDS.
