Public Theater Extends Suzan-Lori Parks' FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS

The Public Theater announced a two-week extension today for the critically acclaimed FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3), a world premiere play written by Public Theater Master Writer Chair Suzan-Lori Parks. Directed by Jo Bonney, FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3) began previews on Tuesday, October 14 in the Anspacher Theater and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, November 16. It will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, November 30.

The opening is set for tonight, Nov. 1 at The Lost Studio on La Brea Ave.

HERE has announced the return of its recent hit The Pigeoning, by Robin Frohardt, in an encore engagement July 9 - August 16. The Pigeoning lands in New York in Summer 2014 following a wildly successful run December 3-22, 2013, as part of HERE's 2013-2014 producing season. Be there as The Pigeoning, an imaginative puppet theater work aimed at adult audiences, touches down in the Dorothy B. Women's Project Theater Begins Nationwide Hunt for New Artistic Director

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Women's Project Theater is going through some major changes. A national search has begun for a new Artistic Director to lead the company for the coming 2014-15 season and beyond. The new Artistic Director will succeed Julie Crosby, who recently departed the company as Producing Artistic Director, a position she held since 2006. During her tenure, Ms. Crosby led and nurtured the institution immeasurably, producing more than 25 plays by women playwrights and directors, and championing the careers of its alumnae lab artists.

Women's Project Theater is going through some major changes. A recent blog by Howard Sherman indicates that Artistic Director Julie Crosby is now missing from the masthead and staff list on the theater's official website. According to Sherman, Crosby was not fired, but 'did not depart voluntarily.' Additionally, some other advisory board members have also resigned.
