The Smiley Face and the Frown Entertainment Group Extends Run of Sold-Out THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES

A new revolution for women's rights is beginning. Experience the movement when The Smiley Face and the Frown Entertainment Co. performs The Vagina Monologues at the newly opened, Cupcake Theater in Hollywood, CA. After a sold out performance on February 16th, The Vagina Monologues has been extended for nine more performances! This production is a part of a global activist movement attempting to end violence toward women and girls. Written by Tony-award winning writer, Eve Ensler, The Vagina Monologues has become a celebration to raise awareness for women's protection all over the world! Proceeds will be donated to Peace Over Violence, a non-profit organization that lends support and prevention of violence toward women and children.

Jeffrey Bean, Melissa Pritchett and More Set for Alley Theatre's COMMUNICATING DOORS; Cast & Creative Team Announced!

Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for Alan Ayckbourn's science fiction comedy Communicating Doors. Eleven plays penned by Alan Ayckbourn have been produced by the Alley, including the American premiere of Henceforward, directed by Ayckbourn, in 1987 and House & Garden in 2002. Alan Ayckbourn has been inducted into the American Theatre's Hall of Fame, received the 2010 Critics' Circle Award for Services to the Arts, became the first British playwright to receive both Olivier and Tony Special Lifetime Achievement Awards and was knighted in 1997 for services to the theatre.

Mercer County Community College's Theatre Program will shine a spotlight on the continuing plague of violence against women during Women's History Month in March. Theatre and Entertainment Technology students team up to present Eve Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues" at MCCC's Trenton Campus on Friday, March 7 and Saturday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Kerney Hall, 102 North Broad Street.

'The show was simply dazzling!' so reports Jody Person, coordinator of the Mercer County Community College (MCCC) Theatre Program. Originally performed earlier in February at the Trenton campus, 'To Be Young, Gifted and Black' comes to MCCC's Studio Theatre on the West Windsor campus for an encore performance on Friday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. The Studio Theatre is located next to Kelsey Theatre, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Performances are tonight, Feb. 7 and Saturday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. in Kerney Hall. Students from the college's Entertainment Technology Program will provide lighting and sound. Kerney Hall is located in MCCC's Kerney Building at 102 N. Broad Street. Parking is available in the garage across the street from the campus.
