The producers of Los Monólogos de la Vagina, the Spanish language version of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues, have announced that the show played its final performance last night, Sunday June 15, at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rdStreet).

The production began performances on May 6 and opened on May 18, playing 15 previews and 33 regular performances at its original off-Broadway home.

The preview cast was Miriam Colón, Kate del Castillo, and Angélica Vale. The opening cast was Kate del Castillo, Angélica María, and Angélica Vale. The most recent cast was Daphne Rubin-Vega, Maria Cellario and Flor De Liz Perez. The production was directed by Jaime Matarredona.

The show's producers, Morris Gilbert and Federico González Compeán, are two of the most prominent and prolific producers of Spanish language theatre in the world and also produce Los Monólogos de la Vagina's Mexico City production, now in its 14thyear. They said, "We are proud to have presented this production at the original New York City home of The Vagina Monologues. Even with positive notices and enthusiastic audiences, the show is not attracting the numbers needed to make this economically viable. We hope to announce plans to bring the production to other US cities."
