Yesterday, December 12, New York Stage and Film presented their Annual Winter Gala. Top theatrical talent paid tribute to honorees Laura Linney (Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning actress) and Jordan Roth (President of Jujamcyn Theaters) at The Plaza Hotel including Steven Pasquale, Rebecca Naomi Jones and John Gallagher, Jr., and cast members from Spring Awakening, Hair and American Idiot. Deadline.com reports today that Mandy Patinkin will team up with Claire Danes for a new Showtime drama series, Homeland. According to the report: 'Homeland centers on American POW Scott Brody, who returns home 10 years after going missing in Iraq, and Carrie Anderson (Danes), a driven CIA officer who suspects he might be plotting an attack on America. Patinkin will play the smart and politically savvy CIA Division Chief emeritus Saul Berenson who is Carrie's main champion in the intelligence upper echelon and her sounding board.'

Out of Time and Place: An Anthology of Plays by Members of the Women's Project Playwrights Lab, Volumes 1 & 2, the long overdue anthology of plays by a group of contemporary female writers, will go on sale after a free reading by eight of the playwrights at The Drama Book Shop, 250 West 40th Street, Friday, December 3, at 5:00pm.

Women's Project, the 33-year-old non-profit theater dedicated to producing plays written and directed by women, announced at its annual meeting Tuesday night (11/16) that it will present the premiere of Lynn Rosen's comedy, Apple Cove, directed by Giovanna Sardelli and starring Cassie Beck, Paul Carlin, Erin Gann, Allison Mack and Dion Mucciacito.
