The winner of the 'Public Schools Sing LIBERTY 125!' contest is the choir from the Brooklyn High School of the Arts, it has been announced by Theresa Wozunk, producer of LIBERTY A Monumental New Musical.

The 2011 edition of the annual Carols for a Cure album is now in the works. Produced by Rock-it Science Records and currently in it's thirteenth year, purchase of the album benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This highly anticipated annual holiday release features casts from the current line-up of prestigious shows performing new and traditional holiday music. Broadway's Carols for a Cure offers a 'snapshot' of each season, as the casts and orchestras from each show on Broadway perform their own holiday track. Yesterday, July 26 at 4:00pm the stars of Broadway's new Tony Award® winning musical PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT, perform some of the show's classic dance floor hits at a special live performance at The Apple Store in SoHo.

In what has now become a theatrical ritual, originating on Broadway 60 years ago, PRISCILLA cast member Eric Sciotto received the Gypsy Robe and BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration.

TheatreSquared announced today the 2010 Gala for Education, supporting arts-in-education outreach for students and teachers throughout Northwest Arkansas. The annual celebration, a sell-out event in 2009, will be catered by the internationally renowned Chef Mario Maggi, a forty-year veteran of kitchens from throughout northern Italy and the world. This year's event will feature a command performance by acclaimed performer and Northwest Arkansas native Esther Stilwell, who returns to Fayetteville for the second time in her professional career after a starring role in the 2007 national Broadway tour of Spamalot. Sandra Keiser Edwards will receive the 2010 Arts Advocate Award, recognizing her longstanding dedication to arts and education in Northwest Arkansas. The event will be held November 19, 2010, 6:30pm at Savor Restaurant, 2217 College Ave. in Fayetteville. Individual tickets are $100. Direct from a tour stop at The Arsht Center in Miami, Tony Award­winner and Broadway favorite Gary Beach will star as King Arthur, headlining the national tour of Monty Python's Spamalot at the Kravis Center March 11 - 16 presented by Stanford Broadway Across America - Palm Beach and Florida Theatrical Association.
