Marin Theatre Company presents a Bay Area Children's Theatre World Premiere as part of MTC's Theater Series for Young Audiences by Ernie Nolan, based on the books by Eileen Christelow, and directed by Karen Altree Piemme. Five Little Monkeys will run from today, August 30 to September 7, 2014.
A Horse of A Different Color is proud to present the world premiere of Fairytales: Not Suitable for Children, created by Morgan Ashley Madison, at Emerald City Theatre Company's The Little Theatre, 2933 N. Building on the success of its inaugural Theater Series for Young Audiences, of which every performance was sold out, Marin Theatre Company will again partner with Bay Area Children's Theatre to present five productions in MTC's 99-seat Lieberman Theatre and 231-seat Boyer Theatre. The series includes four BACT productions - Five Little Monkeys, James and the Giant Peach, Three Little Birds, and Fancy Nancy, the Musical! - as well as one MTC production - Around the World in 80 Days. Based in Mill Valley, MTC is a 47-year old professional nonprofit theater that is a destination for smart, uncommon and adventurous theater.

The Theatre School at DePaul University proudly presents NUMBER THE STARS, by Dr. Douglas W. Larche with Susan Elliott Larche, based on the novel by Lois Lowry, and directed by Ernie Nolan, as the second production of the 2013-2014 Chicago Playworks for Families and Young Audiences season. This production opens Saturday, January 18, and runs through Saturday, February 22, 2014, at DePaul's historic Merle Reskin Theatre. Performances are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 10 AM, and Saturdays at 2 PM. A special Sunday performance (2 PM) will be held on February 16. There will be no Saturday performance on February 15. Friday performances are on February 14 and 21 (10 AM).
Milwaukee's First Stage Artistic Director Jeff Frank finally returns to the city for his own holiday celebrations. After spending weeks in Chicago this fall to consult and ready the production Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Musical for the November 16 opening at the Windy City's Broadway Playhouse, Frank can appreciate the restaging of It's The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Milwaukee audiences await the opening in the Todd Wehr Theater at the Marcus Center on Thanksgiving weekend.
