The USITT-USA curatorial team chose two shows from Ripe Time Theatre in New York, a multimedia production from Paul Abacus, a “wandering opera” staged at LA's Union Station, and performance pieces from faculty at Auburn University in Alabama and Colorado College as the best overall productions for the exhibit.

The celebrated Tony-nominated costume designer Carrie Robbins (Irving Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS, GREASE, OVER HERE!), who has designed over 30 Broadway productions, turns playwright this spring with the world-premiere of two one-act plays, SAWBONES and THE DIAMOND EATER, running tonight, May 21st through June 7th Off-Broadway at the HERE Arts Center (145 Sixth Ave.) in NYC. Opening night is May 22nd.

NOMADS, written by Julia Jarcho and directed by Alice Reagan, will run May 30-June 15, 2014 at 8pm, Saturday June 6 at 2pm & 8pm; Sunday June 15 at 5pm & 8pm at Incubator Arts Project.

Glass Bandits Theater Company will present the World Premiere of playwright Paul Cameron Hardy's (semi-finalist for the Page 73 2013 Playwriting Fellowship) feeling.directed by Eddie Prunoske (In Memoriam: a recession play in 13 acts with House of Yes), October 5-26 at The New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street between Washington and Greenwich). The creative team will include Set and Lighting Design by Josh Smith (Blind Guy Alley at Incubator Arts Project), Costume Design by Andrea Hood (Here Lies Love at Williamstown), Sound Design by Erik T. A cooperative of NYC-based cutting-edge experimental theater companies and artists will present their work throughout July as part of the 2012 undergroundzero festival (Paul Bargetto, Artistic Director, Connie Hall, Executive Director). The festival will take place June 29-July 29 on 5 stages in the East Village and Brooklyn and outdoor sites throughout lower Manhattan. Weekly parties, panels, and new play readings will happen at festival headquarters: the legendary Living Theatre.
