Producers of the acclaimed new Off-Broadway stage drama Stalking the Bogeyman are pleased to announce the launch of a new weekly talkback series, immediately following all Wednesday night performances at New World Stages (340 W. 50th St.).

"When we first decided to mount Stalking the Bogeyman, we knew it was a very unique production that would ultimately serve two important purposes -- to entertain, yes, but also to enlighten and engage," said Executive Producer R. Erin Craig.

"In just a few short weeks of performances, we've already heard from countless audience members that the material explored in our show has had a profound effect on them. So once a week, we want to give the audience an opportunity to further discuss some the hard-hitting topics explored in the play."

Starting Wednesday, October 8, the schedule for the weekly post-show talkbacks will be as follows:

Wed. 10/8 Adaptor/Director Markus Potter; Cast Members Roderick Hill and Erik Heger

Wed. 10/15 Martin Moran -- Actor, Advocate and Author of The Tricky Part:A Boy's Story of Sexual Trespass, A Man's Journey to Forgiveness and Advisory Board Member of 1in6 (www.1in6.org)

Wed. 10/22 Adam Richman -- TV Host, Author, Assoc. Producer of Stalking the Bogeyman and Nat'l Spokesman for RAINN (www.rainn.org)

Wed. 10/29 Peter Pollard -- Communications Director of 1in6 (www.1in6.org)

Wed. 11/5 Steve LePore -- Founder of 1in6 (www.1in6.org)

Wed. 11/12 Liz Seccuro -- Victim's Rights Advocate and Author of Crash Into Me

Additional details and dates will be announced soon.

Based on the incredible story of reporter David Holthouse, Stalking the Bogeyman was famously featured on the popular weekly public radio broadcast "This American Life" in 2011, which prompted an array of subsequent national and international media coverage.

The New York Times calls Stalking the Bogeyman "a riveting true story" that "has only deepened with its trip to the stage, thanks to several especially fine performances." (NYT Critic's Pick, October 2014)

The New Yorker calls the play "a brave exploration of a subject that is taboo, and that, in itself, is commendable and thrilling!"

And Rex Reed of The New York Observer says Stalking the Bogeyman is "a dynamic play of sobering substance that leaves you stunned. Highly recommended. Don't miss it!"

The Off-Broadway premiere cast is led by Roderick Hill ("The Newsroom," Smart People, Unnatural Acts) as David Holthouse, with Erik Heger (End of the Rainbow, Macbeth at The Guthrie) as the Bogeyman, Murphy Guyer (Glengarry Glen Ross, HBO's Mildred Pierce) as Robert Holthouse, Tony Award nominee Roxanne Hart (Passion, HBO's "Hung") as Carol Crawford/Dr. Leavitt, Tony Award nominee John Herrera (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, "Person of Interest") as Russ Crawford and Kate Levy ("Blue Bloods," Halfway Home) as Nancy Holthouse.

In the spring of 2003, David Holthouse was a successful, award-winning journalist. But no one knew that David had two dark secrets -- first, that 25 years ago he was the victim of a horrific sexual assault, and second, that he was quietly planning the ultimate revenge on the man responsible.

A story of transformation, healing and forgiveness of the highest order, Stalking the Bogeyman follows one man's quest for revenge as he comes to grips with the killer inside him.

Adapted and directed by Markus Potter, Stalking the Bogeyman was created from the original true story and subsequent news reports, as well as conversations with Holthouse, lectures he has given around the country and original text by the playwright, with additional writing by Santino Fontana, Shane Zeigler and Shane Stokes.

David Holthouse is an award-winning journalist, screenwriter and documentary filmmaker living in Anchorage, Alaska. His work has been published in national magazines including Rolling Stone, Men's Journal, The Nation and many more.

Markus Potter's directing credits include Black Wizard/Blue Wizard by Dave Malloy at Incubator Arts and Why You Beasting? at The Players Theatre, Off-Broadway.

The production features scenic design by David Goldstein, costume design by Tristan Raines, lighting design by Cory Pattak and sound design and original composition by Erik T. Lawson.
STALKING THE BOGEYMAN had its world-premiere production last fall at the North Carolina Stage Company.

The New York premiere production is produced by NewYorkRep, La Vie Productions, Soumyo Sarkar, RSV Investment Partners, James J. Seiler & David Smith and Wolfstone Productions; Kathy Henderson, Amy Van Nostrand, Santa Barbara Holdings, Ian Kahn and Adam Richman are Associate Producers.

NewYorkRep is committed to developing and producing innovative new work. The company gravitates towards theater that reveals truths about the universe, exposes the travesty and beauty of human kind, and creates empathy -- thus changing the culture in which we live.
