Against heavy competition on both broadcast and cable, including Game 7 of the NBA Western Conference Finals, 'ROOTS' became the #1 scripted mini-series premiere on cable since 2013 (A+E Networks' 'Bonnie & Clyde'). Airing on HISTORY, Lifetime, A&E and LMN, the 9pm premiere telecast of 'ROOTS' was watched by 2.1 million adults 25-54 and 1.8 million adults 18-49. Over the course of the night, 8.5 million viewers watched the episode (3 telecasts). These numbers are expected to grow significantly once Live+3 and Live+7 data becomes available.
From a field of 12 local high school students, Damaris Vizvett, Samuel Christian and Aryana Williams have been selected as the top three performers in the August Wilson Monologue Competition (AWMC) regional finals hosted at Center Theatre Group's Mark Taper Forum on Monday night, February 29, 2016. FX has locked down the January premiere dates of its original series including the Emmy Award-winning drama Justified, the hit animated comedy Archer, and its new animated comedy Chozen, which had been scheduled to run on FXX but now will be paired with Archer for a Monday night animation block. With the move of Chozen to FX, FXX will pair Ali G: Rezurection with the critically acclaimed original comedy series Legit.
