Houston Grand Opera Announces CONCERT OF ARIAS 2018 Winners

Houston Grand Opera (HGO) announced today the winners of the 30th annual Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers that took place at Stude Concert Hall at Rice University. For the second time, the Concert of Arias was streamed live on Facebook, as well as on YouTube for the first time. The livestream was hosted by award-winning soprano and HGO Studio alumna Tamara Wilson. The winners were announced during the second portion of the program.

60 Aspiring Artists Nominated For 2018 U.S. Presidential Scholars In The Arts

The National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) today announced the nominees for the 2018 U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts, one of the nation's highest honors for high school students who exemplify academic and artistic excellence. YoungArts is the sole nominating agency for this high honor and the 60 candidates, representing 25 states and nine artistic disciplines, are all YoungArts winners. The students have been nominated to the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program for their artistic achievement on the heels of the organization's annual signature program, National YoungArts Week, which concluded in Miami on January 14.

Houston Grand Opera (HGO) has chosen the finalists for the 30th annual Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers Concert of Arias, to be presented in the Stude Concert Hall at Rice University on February 1 at 7 p.m. A limited number of general admission tickets for the performance are available here. For the second time, the program will also be streamed live on Facebook, as well as on YouTube. The livestream will be hosted this year by award-winning soprano Tamara Wilson. Viewers will be invited to cast their votes for an Online Viewers' Choice Award.

Finalists Revealed for the 2018 International Opera Awards

The National YoungArts Foundation Launches Regional Programs in LA, NYC, and Miami

National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) President and CEO Carolina Garc a Jayaram announces details for the organization's 2018 regional programs in Miami, Los Angeles and New York. Spanning the country, YoungArts regional programs are modeled after National YoungArts Week, the organization's signature program held annually in Miami. This year, 757 YoungArts winners extraordinarily talented aspiring artists ages 15 18 or grades 10 12 from 47 states will have the opportunity to participate in classes led by master teachers such as Inna Faliks (1996 Winner in Classical Music), Marina Lomazov, Roger Bonair-Agard, Patricia Engel, Kimberly Browning, and more. Winners will participate in interdisciplinary workshops, professional development seminars and present their work to the public through performances, exhibitions and readings at world-class arts institutions in each city.

Sarah Arison Appointed Chair Of YoungArts At Backyard Ball
