An unforgettable love story inspired by one of the most romantic movies of all time. Stephen Sachs directs Deaf actors Deanne Bray (Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, Heroes) and Troy Kotsur (title role in Cyrano at the Fountain, Big River on Broadway) in Sachs' newest play, inspired by the screenplay for Noel Coward's Brief Encounter. The world premiere of Arrival & Departure will open on July 14 and continue through September 30 at the Fountain Theatre. The cast also features hearing actors Jessica Jade Andres, Adam Burch, Brian Robert Burns, Shon Fuller, Kyra Kotsur, Aurelia Myersand Stasha Surdyke.

This fundraising event is open to the public and riders sign-up here: http://www.SaddleUpLA.org   There are 75 Horses are available on a first come, first serve basis. A horse is secured for you once your registration form is received and registration fee has been paid.

DCA announced the theme and curatorial team today for the second iteration of the public art triennial that will be presented next fall. CURRENT:LA Food will be the triennial's second iteration following a highly successful inaugural launch, CURRENT:LA Water, presented in the summer of 2016.

BLOODBOUND Comes to Hollywood Fringe Festival

Bloodbound, a new play by Los Angeles theater luminary Michael Kearns, reemerges at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, opening on Thursday, May 31, after a successful premiere engagement at Highways Performance Space. Kearns' provocative play, running for seven performances only, will continue through June 13 with Mark Bringelson directing, and Moon Mile Run, Kirk Frederick, and Benjamin Scuglia producing. Prior to the Highways run, Bloodbound was gained traction in two workshop productions at the Skylight Theatre Company where Kearns is an Artistic Associate.

Winner of the 2016 NNPN Smith Prize for Political Theatre, RIPE FRENZY is directed by Ovation Award-nominee Alana Dietze (Dry Land at the Echo Theater Company and Kirk Douglas Theatre) and projection designs by Obie Award-winner Jared Mezzocchi (Vietgone at Manhattan Theatre Club). Performances will play May 17 through June 17, 2018; with the press opening on Saturday, May 19.

All-Star Band led by Music Director Martin Guigui, and others to headline an extraordinary 'Concert For Conservation' at the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association BEASTLY BALL on Saturday, May 19, 2018, 5:30 pm, at the L.A. Zoo, a leader in the preservation of some of the world's most critically endangered species and their habitats. Showcasing the enormous impact the Zoo has on animal conservation both locally and internationally, this year's signature fundraiser takes place on the heels of national Endangered Species Day to underscore the Zoo's commitment to saving animals from extinction. The Ball honors animal expert/conservationist Jack Hanna and features a rare after-hours stroll through the Zoo with special animal experiences, including animal feedings, keeper chats and up close interactions; the debut of a conservation mural by artist/Beautify Earth Co-Founder Ruben Rojas; bountiful fare from some of L.A.'s most popular restaurants; a mobile-bidding silent auction and more. Today, March For Our Lives Los Angeles announced Amy Schumer, Yara Shahidi, Connie Britton, Olivia Wilde and Skai Jackson, will take to the stage, joining Charlie Puth who will perform, at March For Our Lives in Downtown Los Angeles on March 24. They will join a slate of student speakers and performers including Charlie Puth. Mayor Eric Garcetti will provide introductory remarks.

The festival takes place from April 7 - 28, 2018. Events will be held at the Greenway Court Theatre (544 N. Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles) and Melrose Trading Post (7850 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles). Da Poetry Lounge Co-Founder Shihan Van Clief serves as Festival Artistic Director.
