The second you take your seat to experience Kneehigh's dazzlingly unorthodox adaptation of the classic doomed romance TRISTAN AND YSEULT at South Coast Repertory, you know for sure you're in for---well, as the folks in Monty Python would say---something completely different. From the get-go, there's an enticing fascination that swirls wildly around this quirky, expressively theatrical Brit import, which is the latest U.S.-touring production from Kneehigh, the much-lauded Cornwall, England-based stage troupe. Their play continues through February 22 at the Tony Award-winning Costa Mesa theater.

On Thursday 29 August 2013 the Melbourne Theatre Company presented the World Premiere of Rupert, David Williamson's take on the greatest media mogul of all time, which enjoyed a sell-out season and critical acclaim. The production then had its USA premiere at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, where it received standing ovations.

David Mirvish and National Artists Management Company have just announced that they will present the Broadway premiere of The Heart of Robin Hood, written by David Farr, featuring original music performed on-stage by Parsonsfieldand directed by acclaimed Icelandic theatrical artist Gísli Örn Gardarsson. The production will open on Broadway on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Marquis Theatre (1535 Broadway). Previews begin on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. The production will play a strictly limited engagement through Sunday, August 23, 2015.

St. Ann's Warehouse welcomes back Kneehigh Theatre and director Emma Rice for the New York Premiere of Tristan & Yseult, the acclaimed production that catapulted the Cornwall-based company onto the national stage. In her adaptation of the epic Cornish drama, Rice employs Kneehigh's signature blend of high theatrics-performances alternately poignant and comic, evocative spectacle, and gorgeous live music-to reimagine the tale of forbidden desires, broken hearts and the agony of choosing one love over another. Reviewing the production last year, The Guardian wrote, 'If this show doesn't make you fall in love with theatre, there's no potion on Earth that can help you.'

The Guthrie Theater held a cocktail party in New York City this week to celebrate Joe Dowling and his final season at the theater. He leaves in June 2015 after 20 years and as the longest Artistic Director in the theater's history. While construction continues and St. Ann's works to raise the final $2 million of its $30 million capital campaign, the organization will present a stellar final season in its temporary home at 29 Jay Street in DUMBO. It kicks off this October when TR Warszawa and director Grzegorz Jarzyna return for the American Premiere of their internationally acclaimed production of Sarah Kane's 4:48 Psychosis, which St. Ann's Founder / Artistic Director Susan Feldman has wanted to bring to New York since she first saw it in February 2004 -- the same year St. Ann's presented the American Premiere of the original Royal Court production of Kane's play. St. Ann's Warehouse also announced the following season highlights today: Emma Rice and Kneehigh, The Wooster Group, the Slovenian choral group Carmina Slovenica, and The Tiger Lillies.
