The Eighth Annual Goodspeed Festival of New Artists, produced by Goodspeed Musicals' Max Showalter Center for Education in Musical Theatre, kicks off its tremendously popular three day festival of brand new works on Friday, January 18, at the Goodspeed Opera House with a staged reading of Nine Wives.
Lead by Artistic Director Nick Demos (producer of Broadway's MEMPHIS), ONE HEALING ARTS COMPANY is a new theatre company devoted to producing theatrical work that opens hearts and minds, creates a nurturing environment for artists and promotes wellness and healing of mind and body. Insightful, funny, authentic and unexpected, SONGS OF SPIRIT is a concert of original songs by emerging musical theatre writers benefiting ONE HEALING ARTS COMPANY. The concert includes a fantastic array of material from outrageous to touching, performed by some of the best contemporary Broadway Performers.

AMERICAN OPERA PROJECTS (AOP) and LivelyWorks present a workshop production of The Golden Gate, an opera in two acts with music by Conrad Cummings and libretto from the novel-in-verse by Vikram Seth adapted by the composer. The performances, on Saturday January 16 and Sunday January 17, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. will take place at the Rose Studio, 10th Floor of the Rose Building (next door to The Juilliard School, enter on 65th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue).

Following three sold-out performances opening weekend, Village Players has added two performances to meet additional audience demand for tickets. Additional performances will take place Friday, November 21 at 8 PM and Sunday, November 23 at 3 PM.
After extensive development in New York at the York Theatre and the Vineyard Theatre, the world premiere of the musical 'The Medium at Large' took place Sunday afternoon, October 19, 2008, at the Village Players Performing Arts Center in Oak Park, Illinois, just over Chicago's western border. Starring Tony Award nominee John Herrera (Neville in 'The Mystery of Edwin Drood') as the titular spiritualist, the show shows promise in negotiating a tricky premise and an even trickier payoff.
