Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe today joined student artists from NYC Public Schools, Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education Dennis Walcott, Commissioner of the Department of Cultural Affairs Kate Levin, Senior Counsel for the Office of U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand Wendy Gellman, New York City Department of Education Coordinator of Visual Arts Karen Rosner, and guest artists Christo and Audrey Flack to present a student public art exhibition, on display through August in Parks throughout the city.

Performance, artist talks and a reception this Thursday, February 10th, presented by the gallery in partnership with The Feminist Art Project (TFAP) and Institute for Women & Art at Rutgers. The artists included are an exciting group, celebrated by curators and museum personnel throughout the United States.

This summer, Parks & Recreation presents twenty public art projects throughout all five boroughs. These projects range from international exhibitions in flagship parks to local, community works in neighborhood parks and traffic islands.

Higher and Higher is the way to go with the newest works by Emma Amos! The triptych, Higher and Higher, celebrates 2009 for the leaps our country and its people have made since Reconstruction.

We are pleased to present Emma Amos's third exhibition at the Flomenhaft Gallery. The show includes paintings bordered with African fabrics, prints and mixed media works, almost all of which were made in 2009.
