The Marcus Center Presents series continues this winter with performances of THE KING: THE MUSIC OF ELVIS with the full Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra on January 15-16. This performance is a co-presentation of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra (MSO) and Marcus Center and is the third of several collaborations planned for the 15/16 Season and beyond. ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: LIVE ON STAGE!, a brand new, music-filled interactive live show, kicks off an 50-city tour, stopping at Playhouse Square's State Theatre for one 6 pm show tonight, Oct. 29. 

Theatre Raleigh announces the 2016 Hot Summer Nights Season including a return of the family favorite The Wolf (March 3-20). Next, Theatre Raleigh will premier an adapted story, The Mystery of Edwin Drood A Musical by Rupert Holmes- (May 11 - 22), followed by Arthur Miller's classic All My Sons (June 7 - 19) and The Light in the Piazza (July 6 - 14), presented in the gallery at the North Carolina Museum of Art. Finally, the Southern classic, Steel Magnolias (July 27 - August 7) and the story of the famed recording session Million Dollar Quartet (August 17 - 28) will round out the season.

Ballet Memphis, under the artistic direction ofDorothy Gunther Pugh, will return to New York City's Joyce Theater (175 Eighth Avenue) for the first time since 2007 for a limited run this October. Performances begin tonight, October 27th and run through Sunday, November 1st.

Today in 2009 the first Broadway revival of Bye Bye Birdie opened at Henry Miller's Theatre (now the Stephen Sondheim Theatre), where it ran for 117 performances. Originally titled Let's Go Steady, the satire on American society is set in 1958. The story was inspired by the phenomenon of popular singer Elvis Presley and his draft notice into the Army in 1957. The original Broadway production was a Tony Award-winning success. It spawned a London production and several major revivals, a sequel, a 1963 film and a 1995 television production.

Ralph's World will perform a concert for families on Sunday, November 8 at 11:30 am at the Jewish Museum.   Ralph's World is the musical planet where kids rock out to high-energy tunes by Ralph Covert, the Grammy-nominated, Chicago-based indie rocker. Covert and his bandmates Tommy O'Brien, Brian Sheridan, and Bean Weng bring to their kids' concerts the same high-energy and super-melodic sense that he developed for his adult pop-rock band, The Bad Examples.
