Toronto – Audiences will discover love has a sense of humour with the Canadian Opera Company's new production of Rossini's TheBarber of Seville from the Spanish theatre troupe Els Comediants. Scottish-born Rory Macdonald, one of Britain's most talented and dynamic young conductors, returns to lead the COC Orchestra, Chorus and a cast of the most exciting young stars in opera today through Rossini's veritable hit parade of a score, filled with showstoppers and sparkling tunes. Sung in Italian with English SURTITLESTM, The Barber of Seville runs for 13 performances on April 17, 19, 21, 26, 29, May 2, 7, 9, 13, 15*, 19, 21, 22, 2015 at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.

He brought an unparalleled talent for comic invention and a flair for creating distinctive, memorable characters to the art of film animation. What's Up, Doc? The Animation Art of Chuck Jones, a new Smithsonian traveling exhibition that explores Jones's creative genius, influences, and legacy, will open at Museum of the Moving Image in New York City today, July 19, 2014 and will be on view through January 19, 2015.

The Fox Theatre announced today the official movie lineup for the 2014 Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival, sponsored by The Coca-Cola Company and Delta Airlines. The 2014 Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival will take audiences down memory lane beginning this June with nine movies celebrating anniversaries: Gone With The Wind, The Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins Sing-A-Long, The Women, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, Double Indemnity and Field of Dreams, which was selected through the Fox Theatre's Facebook fan vote. Additional audience favorites that will be shown on the Fox Theatre's 26-foot high x 56-foot-8-inch wide big screen include the 1933 version of King Kong, Mamma Mia!, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Philadelphia Story, and Saturday Morning Cartoons will introduce children to the classics like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Elmer Fudd that their parents grew up watching and still know and love. Audiences will also enjoy a special treat with the double-feature of Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles for one price.

Lyric Opera of Chicago presents a brand-new production of Gioachino Rossini's crowning comedic glory, The Barber of Seville, conceived by the Tony Award-winning director Rob Ashford in both his Lyric and operatic debut. There will be 10 total performances: February 1, 3, 15, 18, 21, and 25 at 7:30pm and February 6, 9, 12, and 28 at 2:00pm.
