The loud-out-loud production, under the direction of Frans Swart, South Africa's king of farce, will run for three performances at the Sand du Plessis Theatre as a part of the Vrystaat Arts Festival.
Farce king Frans Swart's Afrikaans translation of Ray Cooney and John Chapman's runaway hit, DAA' GAAT DIE BRUID! is on stage for the last time at the Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria this January. The original English version, THERE GOES THE BRIDE, is one of Cooney and Chapman's most successful West End farces.
Following the death of South African actress Marga van Rooy yesterday, Frans Swart, the managing director of Lefra Productions paid tribute to the star of VETKOEKPALEIS, MOLLY & WORS and 'N PAW-PAW VIR MY DARLING. The 75-year-old veteran of stage, television and screen passed away following a battle with cancer.
