Westchester Broadway Theatre will host a fundraising event on April 5th, 2012, to help raise awareness about the work being done to support people affected by breast cancer. On the occasion of our new show, Legally Blonde, the theatre will donate $13.00 for every regular full price ticket sold for the evening performance, to Support Connection. Damn Yankees is headed to The 5th Avenue Theatre! This musical comedy is the story of an aging baseball fan who makes a deal with the Devil so his beloved hometown team can beat the Yankees in the race for the pennant. From the songwriting team of The Pajama Game, Damn Yankees is filled with hit songs including "Two Lost Souls" and the sultry favorite, "Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets." The Paper Mill Playhouse production will slide into Seattle this April. The creative team includes direction by Mark S. Hoebee (Paper Mill's Producing Artistic Director), music direction by Ben Whiteley, and choreography by Denis Michael Jones.

Golden Globe and Grammy Award winner and Academy Award nominee Queen Latifah has signed on to star in and executive produce the Lifetime Original Movie Event, Steel Magnolias, a television adaptation of the iconic play and 1989 film of the same name, reuniting her with her producing duo Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, from the Oscar and Golden Globe winning Chicago and Hairspray. (Zadan and Meron also produce Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva and Smash.) She will take on the role of 'M'Lynn' and star alongside an all-star cast that includes Tony Award winner Phylicia Rashad as 'Clairee,' Golden Globe and multiple Emmy winner Alfre Woodard as 'Ouiser,' Grammy winner Jill Scott as 'Truvy,' Adepero Oduye as 'Annelle,' and Condola Rashad as 'Shelby.' The announcement was made today by Nancy Dubuc, President and General Manager of Lifetime Networks.

The Jewish Museum will present American painter Kehinde Wiley in conversation with Today Show contributor Lola Ogunnaike on Thursday, March 15 at 6:30 pm. Kehinde Wiley will discuss his latest series, The World Stage: Israel. On view at The Jewish Museum beginning March 9, this exhibition showcases vibrant large-scale portraits of Israeli youths, each embedded in a unique background inspired by Jewish ceremonial art, as well as works selected by Wiley from the Museum's collection.

Casting is complete for Rodgers and Hammerstein's Pipe Dream, the second Encores! production of the 2011-12 season, running March 28 - April 1. Pipe Dream will be directed by Marc Bruni with music direction by Rob Berman and choreography by Kelli Barclay. It will play for seven performances at New York City Center, West 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues.

NBC kicks off the new year with the new reality competition series FASHION STAR which will search for the next big brand in fashion. The show will have its 2-hour series premiere on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 9/8c. Featuring host and executive producer Elle Macpherson along with celebrity mentors Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos, the series will give 14 unknown designers the chance to win a multi-million dollar prize to launch their collections in three of America's largest retailers: Macy's, H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue.
