A conversation with Tony Waag, Executive/Artistic Director of the American Tap Dance Foundation, in anticipation of their upcoming 'Rhythm in Motion' contemporary tap dance showcase in New York City, April 22 through April 26. 'Rhythm in Motion' presents forward thinking, groundbreaking tap dance choreography, 'shaking tap dance to its core.' Last year's 'Rhythm in Motion' included tap dance with video, computers, sound manipulating machines and electronically rigged platforms.

Comedian Rip Taylor has been entertaining audiences for over 50 years with a fast-paced delivery of stupid jokes and hysterical one-liners accompanied by a visual menagerie of props that won't quit. You really have to focus in to keep up with him; once he lets loose with a punchline, that's it; whether you caught it or not, it's on to the next, in a barrage of 50 or more, shot out and sprayed around in machine gun style. As Charles Pierce used to say, 'I hope you're wearing pampers, my dear, because you're going to pee!' Taylor is a scream and audiences have always had a ball.

Actor, Writer, Producer and former adult film star Jack Wrangler, died Tuesday at age 62. Wrangler had been struggling with complications from lung disease.

In celebration of the career of Jack Donahue, the fabled eccentric tap dancing star of vaudeville and Broadway, and the subject of the new musical My Vaudeville Man!, the York Theatre is presenting two special events on the December 5th and 6th. The New York Musical Theatre Festival, in association with Melanie Herman, will present the World Premiere of Mud Donahue & Son, a new musical with book by Jeff Hochhauser, based on Jack Donahue's 'Letters Of A Hoofer To His Ma,' with music by Bob Johnston and lyrics by Johnston & Hochhauser, directed by Tony Award nominated Lynne Taylor-Corbett (Swing!), as part of the 4th Annual NY Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF). Performances will run today through October 7 only, with two additional performance added to accommodate the demand for tickets.
