BWW Q&A: Nicole Kelsh Talks LA ESMERALDA at Ballet Theatre of Maryland

In this uplifting take on Victor Hugo’s masterwork, the vivacious street dancer Esmeralda inadvertently catches the eye of the Archdeacon Claude Frollo. He sends his deformed henchman, Quasimodo, to capture her, but Captain Phoebus de Chateaupers comes to her rescue. Seeing Phoebus’s men begin to punish the misunderstood Quasimodo, Esmeralda is moved by compassion. She begs Phoebus to show mercy.

Ballet Theatre of Maryland Releases Individual Tickets For 2023-2024 Season

Ballet Theatre of Maryland, the state’s leading professional ballet company, has released individual tickets for sale for their 45th year in residence at Maryland Hall for the Arts. This season, BTM will celebrate its Sapphire Anniversary with The Firebird, The Nutcracker, Momentum, and The Sleeping Beauty. 

Ballet Theatre Of Maryland Receives Funding From The National Endowment For The Arts

Ballet Theatre of Maryland has announced it has been approved by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to receive a Challenge America award of $10,000. This grant is one of 262 Challenge America awards totaling $2.62 million that were announced by the NEA as part of its first round of fiscal year 2023 grants.

This yearly tradition from Maryland's premier ballet company takes the stage at Maryland Hall, delighting audiences with its whimsical story, varied characters, and festive sets and costumes. To extend the holiday experience, BTM will once again offer a Sugar Plum Party before each Sunday show.

Ballet Theatre of Maryland will present Momentum at Maryland Hall (Feb 25-27) and PGCC Center for Performing Arts (Mar 12). This mixed-repertory production features an excerpt from Paquita’s Grand Pas Classique, a restaging of Forever You by BTM’s founding artistic director Edward Stewart, world premieres by Lindsey Bell and Isaac Martinez, and The Little Slippers, Roman Mykyta’s original adaptation of a Ukrainian story.

LINE Webtoon and Legendary Comics Expand Partnership with Three New Titles

LINE Webtoon (http://www.webtoons.com), the popular digital comics publisher pioneering the development and distribution of comics worldwide, and comic publisher Legendary Comics announced today an expansion to their partnership that will include two all-new titles and a second season for red-hot series Firebrand.
